T: Good morning, boys and girls! As is known to all, there are many

unexplained mysteries of the world. Let’s watch a video. (Play the video.)

Then make a prediction: What will the article mainly tell about?

Ss: The Monster of Lake Tianchi

T: Excellent. Do you want to know more information about them?

Ss: Yes.

Read the beginning of the passage and decide where it comes from.

(Exercise 1 on page52)

T: If you want to know where the passage comes from, please pay

attention to the first sentence of paragraph one.

Task 1: Fill in the blanks. (Pair work)

T: Read the text quickly, mainly the first and last sentence in each

paragraph, and divide the whole text into 3 parts.
