关键词山东大学图书馆古籍善本馆藏书目山东大学是一所以文史见长的百年老校，作为与之配套的学校图书馆，有着与其同样悠久的历史。
清光绪27年(1901)11月25日批准成立山东大学堂时，拟订的《山东试办大学堂暂行章程折稿》即规定：“俟建造学堂规模大备后，应添设藏书楼、博物院各一所，以资考证而广见闻”“其未经议建藏书楼以前，学堂所购所印书籍，亦应汇存一处，以备学生取阅”。
当时的山大图书馆，经费拮据，若一次购书超过五百两银子，须报巡抚袁世凯核定(当时全年图书采购经费为800两白银)。
后来，随着办学规模逐年扩大与购书经费不断增加，线装古籍建设才有了突破性进展，本馆搜购、上级调拨、社会捐赠，齐头并进，终使达到数十万册之规模。
《山东大学图书馆古籍善本书目》(齐鲁书社2007年1月出版)，即从历年递藏的线装古籍中遴选出二千多种、一万余册珍稀善本纂辑而成。
其书肇始于上世纪八十年代，历经王绍曾、沙嘉孙等多位老先生、复经周洪才统一体例，增补校改，始得完成出版。
书内所收古籍善本遍及经史子集丛每个部类，凡所著录，书名、作者、卷数、版本、行款、刻工、序跋、用纸、藏印、封面、签题，及笺条夹纸、堂铺书签，无所不有，有的甚至引证他书以为考释。
称得上是一部体例完备、著录精详、检索便利，有特色，高水准的馆藏《古籍善本书目》。
概言之，此书有以下优胜处：一、著录了一批文献价值较高的稀见之本山东大学图书馆历史积淀丰厚，所藏线装古籍，不仅数量可观，且不乏珍稀之本。
如元吴澄撰《周礼考注》，清王圻纂嘉庆《巫山县志》，清吴承志撰《今水经注》，明薛敬之撰《思庵野录》，明贾应春刻《行军须知》，明胡胤嘉撰《柳堂遗集》，清王景祺撰《牧坡居士诗》、《绉渌亭诗余》，明李贽等辑《三苏文抄》等二十多种明清刻本、抄本、稿本，《中国古籍善本书目》著录仅本馆一家有藏。
