八年级上册英语单词1单元作文范文80词全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Hey there! I'm an 8th grader and I've just started a new school year. My English class is already diving into vocabulary for Unit 1 and I have to say, some of these words are pretty tricky! But I'm going to give it my best shot to use them all in this essay.Let's start with the word "access." This one isn't too hard – it just means being able to get or use something. Like how I have access to my mom's Netflix account, even though I'm not supposed to! Oops, don't tell her I said that. The opposite of access is "deny." Like when my parents deny my request to stay up past my bedtime. No fair!Another word is "accommodate." This means to fit or make room for something or someone. Our school had to accommodate a bunch of new students this year by getting some extra classroom trailers. Accommodate can also mean to help someone out by doing them a favor. Like when I accommodate my little brother by letting him have the last cookie. I'm such a great sibling! Then there's "accumulate" which means to collect or gather over time. I've really been accumulating a lot of soccer trophies over the years from playing on my team. My room is accumulating a lot of dust bunnies too since I'm not a huge fan of cleaning it. Oops! What about "achieve"? This is when you successfully accomplish something, like a goal. I achieved my goal of reading 20 books over summer break. Go me! The opposite is "lack" which means to be missing or without something. I definitely lack any kind of athletic ability when it comes to basketball. Here's a fun one: "acute." This is an adjective that describes something as severe or intense. Like when I get an acute case of the giggles during a really quiet class. Or when that rash I got from the poison ivy turned into an acute red rash all over my legs. No fun!The last word I'll cover is "adequate" which means good enough for what is required. Like, my grade on that last math test was just adequate, not amazing. Or when I put in an adequate amount of effort on my chores around the house so my parents won't nag me.Phew! I managed to use all those words from Unit 1. Vocabulary can be hard, but putting in some effort to really learnthe words makes it a lot easier. My friends and I sometimes quiz each other with flashcards or make up silly sentences using the new words. Anything to make it stick in my brain!Well, I should prob wrap this up before I go way over that 2000 word limit my teacher gave me. English class is no joke in 8th grade! We've got a lot of writing assignments and vocabulary to learn. But I'm ready to tackle it all, one word at a time. Wish me luck!篇2My New School SuppliesFor my first day of 8th grade, I got a bunch of new school supplies! Mom bought me a sturdy backpack to carry my books and notebooks. I also have cool colorful pens, pencils, and highlighters. My favorites are the sparkly gel pens for writing stories. I'm excited to use my new dictionary to look up words I don't understand. With all these great supplies, I feel prepared and ready to learn this year! It's going to be an awesome school year.篇3My First Year of English ClassWow, English class was really hard at first! I remember the first day like it was yesterday. I walked into the classroom feeling nervous but excited. I had heard English was a very difficult language to learn. The teacher, Mrs. Johnson, seemed nice though. She had a warm smile and made us all feel welcome. Then she started speaking in this totally different language! I couldn't understand a single word she was saying. It sounded like gibberish to me. I looked around and saw my classmates looking just as confused as I felt. I thought to myself, "How am I ever going to learn this crazy language?"Little did I know, that first unit on greetings and introductions was just the start of a long but rewarding journey. Mrs. Johnson was an excellent teacher who made learning fun through games, songs, and conversations. Before I knew it, I could say simple phrases like "Hello, my name is..." and "How are you?"The vocabulary words came fast and furious after that. Names of colors, numbers, body parts, classroom objects, and more. Every class we added new words to our "Word Wall" until it was completely full. I worked hard to memorize the meanings, pronunciations, and spellings.Writing and reading were so difficult at first. Making all those weird sounds and recognizing the strange squiggly symbols was really tricky. But like with anything, practice made perfect. I can still remember my pride when I could finally read my first simple book in English!Grammar was the biggest challenge though. Trying to remember when to use "a" or "an", putting verbs in the right tense, and making subjects and verbs agree was mind-boggling.I made so many silly mistakes early on, like saying "I goes to the park" instead of "I go to the park." Little things like that were easy to mix up.But Mrs. Johnson never got impatient or made me feel dumb. She would just gently correct me and explain the rule again. Eventually, it all started clicking into place in my brain. Things that seemed so confusing at first started to make sense.Looking back now, I'm amazed at how much I learned in just that first year of English class. What started as a jumbled mess of bizarre sounds and symbols has turned into a language I can speak, read, write, and understand fairly well. Not perfectly of course, I still have a long way to go in my English learning journey. But I've come so far from those first overwhelming days.I'll never forget the wonderful feeling of accomplishment when I could finally hold a basic conversation entirely in English. Or when I read my first whole book without having to stop on every page. Those were such rewarding milestones after all the hard work.English is still challenging in so many ways. There are always new vocabulary words to learn, trickier grammar concepts to master, and more advanced reading and writing skills to practice. But now I actually get excited to tackle those new challenges, instead of being intimidated by them.I have Mrs. Johnson and all her creative games, activities, and endless patience to thank for that. She turned what could have been an overwhelming, frustrating experience into an engaging, stimulating adventure. Thanks to her excellent teaching, I developed a love for the English language instead of a fear of it.I know English will open up so many doors for me in the future. I'll be able to read books and watch movies from around the world. I'll be able to communicate with people from different cultures. I might even get to travel internationally someday. All of those wonderful opportunities would be out of reach if I hadn't stuck with it and mastered those early basics likegreetings, colors, numbers, and the alphabet. Looking back, I can't believe how far I've come from that first bewildering day when English sounded like an alien language. I've worked so hard, but it's been incredibly rewarding. So to any other students just starting out on their English journeys, stick with it! Study hard, practice as much as you can, and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Before you know it, what篇4My Exciting Vocabulary JourneyVocabulary words fill me with zeal and thrill me to the core! Unit 1 was no exception with words like "diligent" and "persevere." Learning diligently, I persevered through tricky pronunciations. Words like "pursue" motivated me to pursue my passions. The "zest" of fresh vocabulary invigorated me. Though challenging, I've cultivated a profound appreciation for the nuances of language. This journey has been exhilarating! I eagerly await exploring more words that will enrich my linguistic prowess.篇5My New School YearYay, it's the start of a brand new school year! I'm so excited to be in 8th grade. There are so many amazing things to look forward to this year.First up, we have a bunch of new subjects and topics to learn about. In English class, we're going to be studying vocabulary from different units. Unit 1 is all about school life, with words like "textbook", "notebook", "classroom" and "backpack". It's cool learning the English names for all the things we use at school every day.I particularly like the word "backpack". It sounds kind of funny, like a pack that goes on your back. Which I guess it is! My backpack is bright blue with my favorite cartoon character on it. I stuff it full of textbooks, notebooks, pencils, erasers and anything else I need for class. It gets super heavy by the end of the day!Another great word from Unit 1 is "recess". Recess is definitely my favorite part of the school day. It's that wonderful time when we get to go outside and run around and play games and just be kids. No sitting at desks or listening to teachers drone on. Just pure freedom and fun! There's a huge playground at my school with swings, seesaws, slides, monkey bars and more. I love racing my friends across the playground and trying not to get dizzy swinginground and round. We also play classic games like tag, hide and seek, and kickball. Sometimes I just plop down on the grass and enjoy the warm sunshine. At least I have food to look forward to next - lunchtime! The school cafeteria has a bunch of different lunch options. My favorites are pizza, chicken nuggets, and macaroni and cheese. They're not as good as homemade, but they'll do in a pinch when I'm super hungry after a long morning of learning.I have to be sure to eat a filling, healthy lunch to keep my energy levels up for the afternoon rounds of classes. Social studies, art, music, P.E....the schedule is packed. Sometimes it can get exhausting sitting through lesson after lesson. That's when I'll sneak a peek at the classroom clock, counting down the minutes until final bell rings and we're free to go home. After school, it's time for different activities. Twice a week, I have soccer practice out on the big field with my teammates. We do drills, scrimmage games, and get pointers from the coach on improving our skills. Soccer is one of my biggest passions, so those practices are super fun even when we're working hard. The other days, I'll either have a club meeting like art club or math club, or I'll just head straight home. Mom is usually there waiting to ask me about my day over an after-school snack. Thenit's time for homework - reading chapters, working problem sets, writing essays, studying vocabulary. The life of a student is never done! But I don't mind too much. Because I know that every day of school is giving me knowledge and experiences that will help me in the future. All the lessons I'm learning, fromAcademic subjects to friendship to self-discipline, are gradually shaping me into who I'll eventually become. That's pretty cool to think about.Well, that's a little glimpse into my daily life as an 8th grader. Between all the classroom time, Outside activities and everything else, my days are full of excitement and craziness. But I wouldn't have it any other way! This new school year is going to be An awesome one, I can feel it. Bring it on!篇6My Awesome Adventures Learning Unit 1 Vocabulary WordsHey there! I'm an 8th grader and I just started a new English textbook this year. The first unit was all about vocabulary related to people, feelings, and character traits. At first, I wasn't too excited about having to learn a bunch of new vocab words. I mean, isn't that what we've been doing since kindergarten? But this unit actually turned out to be really fun and interesting! It all started when our teacher, Mr. Roberts, introduced the unit. He's one of those teachers who always finds a way to make things entertaining instead of just lecturing at us. On the first day, he had us go around the room and describe our personality using some of the new vocabulary words. I said I was diligent, which means hardworking, but also a bit stubborn at times. My friend Michael cracked up and said I was definitely stubborn! From there, we did all sorts of awesome activities to practice the new words. One day, Mr. Roberts brought in a bunch of celebrity magazines and we had to find examples of positive and negative character traits based on how the celebs were described. Like for positive, words such as generous, intelligent, and confident. And for negative, words like arrogant, rude, and insecure. It was so cool getting to read about famous people and decide if we thought those words fit them or not.Another really fun activity was when Mr. Roberts had us create cartoon characters and give them exaggerated personalities using the vocab words. I made a villain called Dr. Grumpstein who was ill-tempered, impatient, and pessimistic. He was always frowning and expecting the worst! Michael made a sidekick called Emo Boy who was shy, self-conscious, and insecure. We had to write little scenarios showing theirpersonalities, and we got to act them out. The whole class creamed laughing at our performances. You know what though? As silly as some of the activities were, they really helped cement those vocabulary words in my brain. Like now when I see words like courteous, impolite, or moodiness, I automatically picture specific examples instead of just a boring dictionary definition.I think learning new character trait words has low-key helped me become more self-aware too. Like, I catch myself thinking, "Whoa, I'm being pretty impatient right now waiting for the bus. Need to work on that!" Or when my mom is nagging me, I'm like, "Relax mom, you're getting a little ill-tempered!" Just kidding...I'd never actually say that to her.But for real, learning vibes words like enthusiastic, energetic, motivated and the opposite ones like indifferent, lethargic, and apathetic is super useful. I can think of specific people I know who fit those descriptions. Like my buddy Diego is the most enthusiastic, energetic person I know. He's always pumped about everything. Whereas our friend Marcus can be kind of indifferent or apathetic about stuff. Not in a mean way, he just doesn't always seem super excited or motivated, you know?Oh, and I almost forgot one of the highlights - when we had to do self-evaluations talking about our own character traits and personalities. I got to describe myself as a imaginative, creative person who's also friendly and athletic. Although I might have exaggerated a tiny bit about that athletic part! Hey, it's myself-evaluation, I can brag if I want to.I still remember Michael's hilarious self-evaluation though. He started out saying he was witty and humorous...but then he was like "Yeah, actually I'm just kind of a goofy, weirdo dork. But an endearing one!" We were cracking up so hard. What a mood.So yeah, as lame as it sounds, I actually had a blast learning character trait vocabulary this unit. Those types of words are just so relatable and interesting compared to learning scientific terms or whatever. Plus Mr. Roberts made it fun and interactive instead of just forcing us to do a million worksheets and quizzes.I'm kind of looking forward to seeing what kinds of activities he has planned for the next unit on vocabulary about school, routines, and responsibilities. Maybe we'll get to do skits or write stories using the new words? I don't know, but I'm sure it'll be something entertaining.Well, that's a wrap on my rambling essay about learning vocabulary for describing people's personalities and charactertraits. I'd better stop here before this turns into a novel! Let me know if you ever need help practicing with any of those words - I'm kind of an expert now. Peace out!。
