三.公共标识汉英翻译原则
我国的翻译理论极具影响的有近代严复的“信、达、雅”；现 代傅雷的“神似”和钱钟书的“化境”，都对翻译界影响很大，对翻 译实践起着重要的指导作用。但是，这些标准都是针对严肃的文本翻 译，尤其是对文学翻译而言的，对广泛用于社会生活的应用文体翻译 并不适用。拿这些文学翻译理论指导应用翻译，犹如“隔靴搔痒”， 缺乏有效性和针对性。

三、程式化套译
由于标识语的结构日益国际化，而文字的表述比较固定，因此翻译时可以 采用程式化的方式来进行套译。 1、表示“禁止做某事”可以套译为“No+名词或动名词”的形式：
“禁止掉头”——No Turn；“禁止入内”——No Admittance “禁止停车”——No Parking；“禁止吸烟”——No Smoking 2、表示“专用”，可以采用“名词+Only”的形式： “员工专用”——Staff Only；“贵宾专用”——VIP Only 3、表示“请勿做某事”，可以采用“Do not +动词”的表达方式： “请勿触摸”——Do not touch；“请勿扔垃圾”——Do not litter

A sign is a public card made of certain words and phrases easy to understand or some graphics ,symbols, which is used Ⅰ.交通标识（traffic signs） to pass to public some information.

根据原语所处的具体语境， 充分解释原语所隐含的意义， 把原语的意图表达出来，而 不用拘泥于字面的意思。
例如：
杭州是我家，清洁靠大家 。 Hangzhou is my home, its clearness depends on all of us. 或者 ”Keep Our City Clean.” 注意安全，请勿攀爬单边墙。 Pay attention to your safety. Don’t climb the single wall. 或者是 “No climbing.”
