Project 1 My Puppy - A Teaching Design for Y3S2 English

Curriculum

Background and Rationale

English is a subject that is increasingly valued in our society,

both for professional and personal reasons. In Y3S2, students in China

are expected to build basic skills in listening, speaking, reading, and

writing through integrated content. In order to enhance students’

learning motivation and promote their communicative competence, this

teaching design aims to use My Puppy as a theme to facilitate language

learning.

My Puppy is a topic that most children can relate to, since it can

provide them with a sense of companionship and friendship. By using My

Puppy as a teaching theme, we can create an emotionally engaging and

authentic context that allows students to practice using language in a

meaningful way.
