1.Learn the structure of the writing and some useful expressions;

2.Write a passage to introduce a place;

3.Foster the interest and desire of learning English and introducing a place to others.

重点难点 Key points :

Training of writing skills;

Learn some useful expressions.

Difficult points:

Guide students to write a good letter by themselves.

Greeting Show the learning goals to the students. Let Ss know the goals they need to achieve.

Pre-writing

Task 1 Ss read the sample to summarize the main idea; Ss fill the blanks on their learning materials, and learn some useful expressions and basic structure.

Help Ss pay attention to the topic sentences, conjunctive words and supporting

ideas and so on.

Pre-writing

Task 2 Analyse the sample carefully to summarize the key points of the letter.

Students will be prepared to write their own composition. They will know how to write and what to write.

While-writing

Task 1 Show Ss the topic and requirements of

the writing. Ss will know the topic.

While-writing

Task 2-Brainstorm Guide students to write an outline and remind students to pay attention to the structure, grammar, handwriting and so on. Students can put the ideas they have just learned in order.

While-writing

Task 3 Students will write their own composition, and the teacher will walk around to offer help.

Through above two activities, students

will finish their writing.

Post-writing

Task 1 Self-editing:

The teacher will give students a short time to go through their writing to correct mistakes in spelling and grammar. Students can evaluate their compositions by themselves.

Post-writing

Task 2 Peer-editing:

Students will exchange their composition with each other and correct mistakes in spelling and grammar; They can also grade the compositions. Ss can learn from peers and they will be more willing to share their ideas in public and learn from each other.

Post-writing

Task 3 Display and Evaluation :

The teacher will choose a composition and display it to the whole class and

guide other students to evaluate it, then the teacher will make a conclusion.

Summary The teacher summarize the key points and show the design of the writing; The teacher encourage Ss to learn English and describe their hometown to others. Ss can write a passage to introduce a place by themselves; Ss will have the desire of learning English and introducing

a place to others.

Assignment The teacher gives assignments. Guide students to write good letters by themselves.
