对西方文化的认识和看法英语作文全文共5篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Views on Western CultureHi there! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to share my thoughts about Western culture. I find it really fascinating to learn about different cultures around the world. One thing I find really cool about Western cultures is their food. My favorite is definitely pizza! I mean, what's not to love about bread, cheese, sauce and all kinds of fun toppings? Whenever my parents order pizza for dinner, I get so excited. I also really enjoy hamburgers, french fries, and milkshakes. A lot of Western food seems to involve bread, meat, cheese and deep frying - which makes it super delicious in my opinion!Another aspect I find interesting is Western music and movies. My big brother is really into rock music, with his favorite bands being AC/DC, Metallica and Iron Maiden. The music is very loud and energetic. While not my personal favorite, I can appreciate the skill of the musicians. As for movies, I love animated Disney films! The animations are so detailed andrealistic. Some of my favorites are The Lion King, Frozen, and Moana. The storylines are always so much fun and emotional too. When it comes to holidays, I think Christmas is my favorite Western cultural tradition. Getting to decorate a huge tree inside the house is so much fun. Plus, leaving out cookies and milk for Santa is something I look forward to every year. I really enjoy opening presents with my family on Christmas morning as well. The holiday season in general is magical, with all the twinkling lights, special music, and family gatherings.Western culture also seems to really value independence, individualism and freedom of choice. In my family, my parents let me and my siblings make our own decisions about things like which extracurricular activities to participate in or what clothes we want to wear. They encourage us to discover our own interests and passions. My best friend Sarah's parents are the same way. This level of independence is quite different from the cultural traditions of some of my other friends' families.Of course, not everything about Western culture appeals to me. A lot of the clothing styles seem overly revealing or inappropriate for kids our age. Things like crop tops, short-shorts, and clothes with rude language or images on them. My momdefinitely does not let me wear that kind of stuff! I also don't really understand the appeal of the party scene, drinking alcohol, or doing drugs that some people in Western pop culture glamorize. That all seems silly and dangerous to me.Speaking of danger, I have to say I get really scared watching violent movies or TV shows, even cartoons. Like when characters are fighting with guns or swords, it makes me really nervous. I much prefer movies and shows that are lighthearted and not too intense. My parents try to stick to G and PG rated things for that reason.Overall though, I do find Western culture fascinating from my perspective as a 10-year-old. The food, music, movies and holiday traditions are fun to experience. While I may not always agree with certain aspects of popular culture, I appreciate that Western society promotes independence and allowing people to make their own choices. I feel lucky that my family is able to explore and celebrate customs from other cultures too. Learning about different cultural views and practices is not only interesting, but helps me to be more understanding of others.Well, those are my thoughts for now! I'll continue being curious to learn more as I get older. Understanding othercultures helps bring us together as one global community. Thanks for reading my essay! Bye for now.篇2My Views on Western CultureHi there! My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. I've been learning about different cultures in school lately and today I want to share my thoughts on Western culture. This is a really big topic so I'll do my best to cover the main things I've learned. One of the first things I think of with Western culture is ancient Greece and Rome. We studied them a lot in history class.I think it's so cool how they had these amazing philosophers like Socrates, Plato and Aristotle way back then discussing big ideas about life and knowledge. The Romans were incredible builders and engineers too - structures like the Colosseum and Roman roads that still exist today!Of course, the Renaissance period was another major part of Western culture that I find fascinating. This was when art and science really took off in Europe after the Middle Ages. You had legendary artists like Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Raphael creating awe-inspiring paintings and sculptures. But there were also pioneering scientists during this time like Galileoand Copernicus who revolutionized our understanding of the universe and Earth's place in it.Speaking of revolutions, we can't forget about the Enlightenment movement which spread ideals of liberty, democracy and reason across Europe and the American colonies. Thinkers like John Locke, Voltaire, and Thomas Jefferson promoted individual rights and challenged traditional authorities like monarchy and the church. This paved the way for seminal events like the American and French Revolutions which helped establish modern Western democracy and values of freedom. When I think of modern Western pop culture, a lot comes to mind! There's Hollywood movies and TV shows that are watched all over the world. I love watching superhero and action films - they have such amazing special effects these days. Western music is also a huge part of global popular culture, spanning genres like rock, pop, hip hop, country and more. Some of my favorite artists are Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Imagine Dragons.Western food is another area I really enjoy learning about. We have food from so many different European cuisines like Italian, French, Spanish and Greek. My favorite is definitely pizza though - I could eat it every day! I also love hamburgers, hot dogs, fries and milkshakes which originated in America. Fordessert, you can't go wrong with a delicious piece of apple pie or chocolate brownies.Of course, no discussion of the modern West would be complete without mentioning technology and innovation. Many of the biggest tech companies and startups are based in places like Silicon Valley. Inventions like the internet, smartphones, personal computers and social media have transformed how we live, work and communicate with others around the world. I can't even imagine life without being able to Google things, watch YouTube, play video games or stay connected with my friends online. At the same time, I recognize that Western nations have had a very mixed historical legacy when it comes to their treatment of indigenous peoples and involvement in injustices like slavery, colonialism and racism. While Western Enlightenment values of human rights and democracy were groundbreaking philosophically, the reality is that they weren't always consistently applied in practice - especially to non-Europeans. This has created long-lasting inequalities and tensions that still need to be addressed more fully.Looking ahead, I think some of the biggest challenges facing Western nations will be related to the environment andsustainability. Issues like climate change, pollution, and overconsumption of natural resources pose serious threats. I hope my generation will be able to find innovative solutions drawing upon Western scientific knowledge while promoting more eco-friendly lifestyles and policies. There's also the ongoing need to live up to Western ideals of equality, pluralism and social progress for all people - regardless of race, religion, gender or other differences. While the West has made important strides in this area over time, there is still more progress to be made in achieving true equity and inclusion. Discrimination, polarization and conflicts often still arise over identifies and cultural values clashing. All in all, Western culture is this amazing mix of philosophical ideas, artistic achievements, democratic principles, technological inventions and pop culture influences that have literally shaped the modern world we live in today. At the same time, it has faced many difficult challenges and injustices throughout its history that we must continue learning from and addressing.I feel really fortunate to have been exposed to so many fascinating aspects of Western civilization through my education so far. As I continue growing up, I look forward to diving deeper into its complexities - both the incredible accomplishments aswell as the darker chapters that need an honest reckoning. My generation will help define what Western values and cultural influence will mean for the future of our increasingly globalized world.篇3My Views on Western CultureHi everyone! My name is Emily and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to share my thoughts about Western culture. I find it super fascinating to learn about how people live in countries far away from where I'm from. One big part of Western culture that I really admire is their love of freedom and democracy. In Western nations like the United States, Britain, and France, the people are allowed to vote for their leaders and have a lot of personal freedoms. They can practice any religion they want, say what they think, and make their own choices about their lives. That's really cool! Here where I live, we don't have quite as much freedom as they do.The philosophies and values of Western culture also seem very interesting to me. A big emphasis is placed on individualism - pursuing your own goals and being independent rather than just going along with the group. Ideas like human rights, equality, and the pursuit of happiness come from famous Western thinkers. These values have spread around the world and influenced so many people and societies. Even if we don't fully agree with them where I'm from, you have to admit they are thought-provoking ideas.Another awesome thing about Western culture is how much creativity and self-expression is encouraged in fields like art, literature, and music. Just think of all the incredibly talented poets, painters, sculptors, composers, and writers who came from Europe and North America over the centuries. From Shakespeare's plays to Picasso's paintings to rock & roll music, Western culture has given the world so many lasting artistic achievements. They really seem to value letting people's imaginations run wild and making art that's meaningful to them.At the same time, I can't help but notice some aspects of Western culture that I'm not totally sure about. For one thing, Western societies today often seem to be too materialistic and focused on making money rather than what's truly important in life. The non-stop advertisements for stuff to buy, super-sized portions of food, and shopping malls overflowing with stuff makes we wonder if they've gone overboard with the wholecapitalism thing. My parents teach me that there's more to life than just buying and consuming.I'm also a little confused by how quickly traditional family values seem to be changing in some Western countries. Where I'm from, Elders are respected, marriages are sacred, and divorce is very rare. But in places like America, divorce is super common, having kids outside of marriage is accepted, and a lot of people turn their backs on their families as they get older. These changes make me a bit uncomfortable, even if Western societies argue they just represent more modern values around individualism. Finally, I sometimes worry that people in Western culture can be too open-minded to the point of having no moral guidelines at all. It seems like they are constantly pushing the boundaries of what's considered acceptable, from things like revealing fashion to acceptance of different sexual orientations and gender identities. Don't get me wrong - having an open mind is great. But without any limits, I've heard Western societies sometimes go too far in embracing things that other cultures around the world might consider unethical or unnatural. Though I could be wrong - maybe I'll understand better as I get older! Those are some of my thoughts after learning about Western culture and seeing it portrayed in movies, music, books, and on the internet. Overall, I have a lot of respect and appreciation for Western achievements when it comes to democracy, human rights, creativity, and innovative thinking. Those are amazing gifts that Western nations have shared with the world. At the same same time, I sometimes worry that they take individuality too far and lose sight of community values, traditions, and moral principles that have lasted for thousands of years in other cultures. What's most important is keeping an open mind as I continue learning about the West and other cultures around me. Having some doubts and disagreements is okay - that's part of being a critical thinker. The key is studying the facts, keeping an open mind, appreciating diversity, and always working to develop my own reasoned perspectives. I'm excited to keep exploring and making up my own mind about the cultures of the world as I get older!篇4My Views on Western CultureHi there! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to share my thoughts and what I've learned so far about Western culture. It's a really big topic, but I'll try my best to explain it in a way that makes sense.First off, what exactly is "Western culture"? From what I understand, it generally refers to the cultures of European countries as well as nations that were influenced a lot by European immigration and colonization, like the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. These places all have some cultural traditions and values that are kind of similar in some ways. One really important part of Western culture is ancient Greece and Rome. A long time ago, they had cool philosophers like Socrates, Plato and Aristotle who came up with a lot of the original ideas about democracy, human rights, science, math and more. Their art, architecture, mythology and way of life influenced a ton of what came later in Europe.Speaking of art, Western cultures seem to really value creative expression through painting, sculpture, music, literature and so on. There are lots of famous artists from the Renaissance and other periods like Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci,Shakespeare, Mozart and many more. Their works are studied and admired all around the world.Western countries also made huge contributions to fields like science, with people like Galileo, Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein making amazing discoveries that changed how we understand the universe. There's just so much incredible thinking and creativity that shaped the modern world! At the same time, I've learned that Western cultures have a pretty dark side too with things like slavery, genocide against indigenous populations, extremely harsh treatment of women and minority groups, and terrible conflicts like the World Wars. It's disturbing but important to understand mistakes from the past.In my classes, we've talked about how Western cultures today generally put a lot of emphasis on individualism, personal freedoms and human rights. There's a philosophical tradition of valuing reason, questioning assumptions, having a democratic system of government and protecting things like freedom of speech, religion and the press.Economically, capitalism and free market systems are a major part of the Western way of life. People have the ability to start businesses, own private property and make money throughinvesting and trade. Western nations tend to be highly developed and industrialized compared to other parts of the world.Family structures in Western cultures are often nuclear families with parents and their kids, although there's a lot of diversity these days too. There are both religious andnon-religious people, with Christianity being the majority tradition along with sizeable minority groups like Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and others.I find some of the social values in Western cultures really fascinating and different from my own family's background. For example, there's often a focus on individual success, following your own dreams and passions, being independent from your parents as an adult, dating around before marriage, and having more casual relationships between parents and kids. The foods are super varied too! Of course, dishes like hamburgers, pizza, tacos, pasta and baked treats are hugely popular. But Western cultures incorporate cuisines and ingredients from all around the globe now. It's pretty cool to see that diversity and blending of traditions. That reminds me, immigration is another big factor shaping Western cultures, as people from everywhere bring their foods, customs, languages and more to new home countries. Major cities have incredibly vibrant mix of people, practices and ideas from all backgrounds. At the same time, I know racism, discrimination and conflicts between cultural groups remain really serious issues. Western nations struggle with things like a lack of economic and educational opportunity for certain minorities, hate crimes, stereotypes portrayed in media and other problems. There's clearly a lot of progress still needed.Overall though, I have a very positive view of how Western cultures have shaped our modern, interconnected world through amazing innovations, creativity, democratic ideals, diversity and openness to change over time. Of course, no cultural tradition is perfect, but there's so much to learn and appreciate when you look at the full picture.I'm the first to admit that as a 10-year-old, my knowledge is pretty limited and Surface level. But I find the cultures of the Western world fascinating, impressive and also complex - a mix of lights and shadows, great achievements and deep flaws. I'm excited to keep studying them and gaining a deeper understanding over time.I'd love to hear your thoughts too! What stands out to you about Western civilizations, past and present? Any other insights you can share from your experiences and perspectives? I'm all ears to learn more about this endlessly interesting topic. Thanks for reading my essay!篇5My Views on Western CultureHi there! My name is Emily and I'm 10 years old. My teacher asked us to write about what we think of Western culture for our English class. At first I didn't really know what to write because there's a lot of different stuff that makes up Western culture. But after thinking about it for a while, I realized there are quite a few things I find really interesting! One big part of Western culture that I'm familiar with is their holidays and celebrations. I love learning about holidays like Christmas, Halloween, and Easter. Christmas is probably my favorite! I love decorating the tree, leaving out cookies for Santa, and getting presents. The story about Jesus being born is really nice too. Halloween is super fun because you get to dress up in costumes and go trick-or-treating for candy. And Easter is coolwith the Easter Bunny leaving chocolate eggs around the house. The egg hunts are always a blast.Western cultures have some really awesome traditions when it comes to food too. I went to a friend's house for Thanksgiving dinner last year and his family had a huge turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and pumpkin pie for dessert. It was all so delicious! I also love food like pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, and french fries. Oh and don't forget about all the tasty candies and chocolate from places like Hershey's. My mouth is watering just thinking about it all!Speaking of desserts, I'm also a huge fan of a lot of the sweet treats that come from Western countries. Cookies, cakes, pies, doughnuts, ice cream, milkshakes...yum! One of my favorite Western desserts is an ice cream sundae loaded up with tons of toppings like hot fudge, caramel, sprinkles, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. So good!Western music is pretty cool too. While I don't understand all the lyrics, I enjoy listening to pop songs and music with fun beats you can dance and sing along to. Artists like Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Ariana Grande are super popular. I also really like animated Disney movies that come from Western cultures and have great songs in them.Another fun part of Western culture is their sports and activities. I'm a pretty active kid and love running around playing games. Some of my favorite sports to play are basketball, soccer, baseball, football, and tennis. Kickball is awesome during recess at school too. Western countries also have some thrilling adventure sports and activities like snowboarding, surfing, rock climbing, and ziplining that look exciting to try one day. When it comes to books and TV shows, there are lots of great options that come from Western cultures. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and can't get enough of the books and movies about the young wizard. I've read all the novels like a million times! For shows, I enjoy watching comedies and cartoons that are funny and light-hearted. The Simpsons, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Friends always make me laugh.Western countries are also really fascinating when it comes to their histories and stories from ancient times. I had to do a report on ancient Greece and learned all about mythology with gods, goddesses, heroes, and epic tales. Stories like the Odyssey and myths about Zeus, Hercules, Medusa, and the Minotaur were so interesting and imaginative. The ancient Roman civilization was pretty neat to study too with all their innovations in areas like government, architecture, and warfare. As you can probably tell, I'm really inspired by a lot of different aspects of Western culture! While I was born and raised in an Eastern country, I've grown up being exposed to so many wonderful traditions, foods, music, stories, and activities from Western nations. I think it's so cool to be able to learn about and experience different cultures. At the same time, I know Western culture isn't perfect and there are parts of it that can be problematic or negative. Some examples are issues with racism, violence, materialistic values, and environmental harm. But I try to focus on the positive sides while also learning about the challenges. Every culture has its strengths and weaknesses.Overall, I have a really optimistic view towards Western culture. It has given the world so many incredible gifts across all kinds of areas. The diversity in Western countries is also amazing with how many people of different backgrounds call them home. While I'm proud of my own cultural roots, I'll always be intrigued and fascinated by the vibrant cultures of the West. Who knows, maybe I'll even have the chance to visit places like the United States or Europe someday! For now, I'll just keep learning as much as I can. There's always more to discover.。
