Today I’m going to talk about the topic“Seeing a doctor.”My teaching plan will include 4 sections. They are analysis of the teaching material, identifying the teaching aims, the teaching methods and teaching procedures. First, let me talk about the analysis of the teaching material.Section 1. The analysis of the teaching material.This unit is about seeing a doctor from New Standard Junior Middle School, Book4, Module10.First of all, I’d like to talk about my understanding about this lesson. We have learned the topic about seeing a doctor in primary school, and we’ll also l earn it in Book 5.So this unit links with the experience of the students and the following lessons. So this period is very important. It also plays an important part in training the students’ spoken English.Now I want to talk about the teaching aims. According to the New Standard Curriculum and the Syllabus, I identify the following aims:1. Knowledge objects:a) The students can hear, read, understand and use the main sentencesabout seeing a doctor.b) The students can express their thoughts when act a doctor or apatient.2. Well, in order to achieve the teaching objects, to stress the important points and break through the difficult points better. I decide to choose Total Situational Action and Task-Based Teaching as the main teaching approach. As is known to all of us, the students from the countryside are poor in cooperative learning skills.Then, I’ll talk about the teaching procedures.The teaching procedures in this lesson include eight parts. They are lead-in, focusing on main dialogue, reading and scanning for the detail, practicing, extension, apprasing, homework and blackboard design.Part one: Lead-inThis part I will use two tasks to give students a purpose for learning.Task 1. A competition.I’ll divide the whole class into four groups to name some of the diseases. The purpose is to arouse the students’ interest of study.Task 2. I start my lesson by showing a picture. In the picture, there is a boy that looks uncomfortable. At this point, I get the students to imagine what’s the matter with the boy?According to the students’ answers, I go on to show another picture of a doctor, then lead-in the new lesson.Part 2. Focusing on main dialogue.During this part, I will show some questions about the dialogue, and let students answer the questions by listening to the dialogue. With the task, I excite students’ desire to know more about the dialogue. With the questions in mind, students will be eager to listen to the tape to find outthe answers.Part 3. Reading and scanning for the detail.During this part, I ask students to read the dialogue. Then work in groups to find out the important language points and explain. The purpose is to develop the students’ scanning skillsPart 4. Practicing.Let students finish a new dialogue. The purpose is to express the students’ thoughts about seeing a doctor.Part 5. ExtentionAfter practicing, I show four pictures which show some people are seeing the doctors. Let students make up dialogues and act it out. This content is an extension for students to increase their abilities.Part 6. AppraisingAccording to the New Standard Curriculum and the Syllabus, students can get a great progress by appraising. So before this lesson, I give every student a card and they can appraise themselves during the whole teaching as well as I. The purpose is to set up their self-confidence and find out their shortcomings.Part 7.HomeworkSummarize the whole lesson and arrange the homework.The purpose of my design in this part is that I think the students should speak English as much as they can in class or after class. It is necessary for the students to do some exercises after class to master the knowledge they learned.Part 8.Blackboard DesignThe purpose of my design is to make the students be free to talk about how to see a doctor and understand the main language points and can talk more in teamwork.As a teacher, I’ll try my best to get my class alive and encourage t he students to talk with each other in English.
