Unit1 How tall are you?第一课时教学设计一、教学设计思路教师借助动画、图片等来复习几个形容词，在此基础上引出该形容词的比较级，然后通过实物的直接对比和趣味游戏等来教授形容词的比较级及其句型。
二、教学目标（一）知识1．掌握四会单词taller, stronger, older, younger, shorter2．熟练掌握描述自己和他人身高的句型：I’m _____ cm tall. / She’s _____ cmtall.（二）能力能够用句型“You’re taller than your brother. I’m older than you.”进行年龄和身高的比较，并能根据某一情景使用含有形容词比较级的句型替换关键词进行问答。
（三）情感多多关注身边的人，提高观察和分析比较的能力；个子的高矮并不严重，关键是要加强体育锻炼，增强体质。
三、教学重点1．能够听说读写A Let’s learn部分五个形容词的比较级形式；2．能根据某一情景使用含有形容词比较级的句型替换关键词进行问答。
3．长度单位“centimeter”的发音是本课时的教学难点四、教学媒体录音机、本课时录音带、教学图片、测量身高的工具、动画课件、大棕熊和小松鼠的贴纸。
五、教学过程1．导入1）让学生欣赏动画“Tall, short”（参见“视频资源”）或“She’s tall”（参见“优异课件”），既吸引了学生上课的兴趣，同时也复习了形容词“tall, short”。
2）教师同时展示姚明和七个小矮人的图片，说：Yao Ming is very tall. Theseven dwarfs are very short.2．呈现新课1）教师再次展示姚明的图片，说：Yao Ming is very tall. He is 226 cm tall. He istaller than me.Yao Ming is 26. I am… Yao Ming is older / younger than me.2）教师拿着测量身高的量器，量一下自己的身高，说：I am…cm tall.然后提问学生“How tall are you?”，教师量出该学生的身高，说：He / She is… cm tall. He/ She is taller/ shorter than me.教师板书short-shorter tall-taller并领读。

Unit 1How tall are you?单元教材及学情分析本单元的中心话题是通过询问身边人的年龄、身高、体重或事物的长度来学习形容词的比较级。
内容涉及自然博物馆中不同种类的恐龙大小、高矮的比较,钓鱼时鱼的大小的比较,学生之间在身高、体重、年龄等方面的比较等等,同时,涉及了身高、体重及其对应的单位名称。
初步了解比较级用and连接表示“越来越……”这一语法结构。
Story time部分以招聘足球队守门员的形式生动展示了比较级和最高级的用法。
这是一个取材广泛而又具有交际意义的单元。
在教学中,教师在组织语言教学时要注意设计生活化与功能化并重的语言任务,正确把握好教材编者的意图, 注意结合学生的已有知识水平和生活实际。
在进行某些语言活动时,尤其在与同学作身高、体重的比较时,有些学生会产生自卑心理,教师要引导他们正确面对客观现实,如个子矮、长得胖等;并告诉他们加强体育锻炼和改变饮食习惯,在一定程度上可以改变身体状况;同时也要告诉其他同学注意团结友爱,不要嘲笑这些同学。

二、学情分析六年级学生既带有少年的天真又时常表现出青年的成熟。
随着知识的积累和对事物体验的深化，六年级学生内心世界比较丰富。
除了注意事物外表的形式之外，更注意对事物的分析和主观体会，对很多问题都可以做出自己的回答。
记忆力增强，使大脑中存储的信息迅速增加，孩子可以进行比较复杂地推理和运算。
本课时是本单元的第四课时了，孩子们对身高、体重等的英语表达已有了一定的了解。
因此，本课重在通过一些有趣的活动，希望能激发孩子们的学习兴趣。
