The process of the earthquake which happened in Tangshan:before-earthquake, during-earthquake, after-earthquake;B. Teaching Procedure:Step 1 Greeting (1-2mins.)Step 2 Lead –in (5mins.)A. I will revise the last lesson by asking these questions:1. The meaning of earthquake: a sudden shaking of the earth’s surface that oftencauses a lot of damage.2. The things happened before an earthquake are: village wells rose and fells, andwell walls had deep cracks in them; smelly gas came out of the cracks; mice ran out of the fields looking for place to hide; animals were running here and there nervously, and so on. And let students look at those pictures on page 25.3. Self-protecting ways during the earthquake are: if you are outdoors, to run to aplat and far away from the lake or river; if you are indoors, to go to the corner of the wall and cover your head with cloth.Step 3 Pre –reading (2 mins.)A. I will guide students to look at the title of the text by asking these questions:1. Look at the text A Night the Earth Didn’t Sleep, do you feel a little strangeabout it, why the earth didn’t sleep at that night?2. How about the people, what did they do at that night?Now, please use your favorite ways and the fastest speed to read this passage, and find out the answers of these questions. ( the reason, the process and the result)Let’s begin!Step 4 While –reading (10-12 mins.)A. After students’reading, I will ask them about the answers of these questionsand guide them to find the right answers, and write them on the blackboard.●Reason: earthquake, things happened before it.●Process: during-earthquake, the scene●Result: after-earthquake, damage and the rebuildB. I will let students read the passage again carefully and get a better known ofthis passage.Step 5 After –reading (15 mins.)I will let students think about the earthquake and talk with their partners about it, then ask some of them to share their opinions with us, and I will conclude it and write them on the blackboard like this: (1) we should protect the environment and our government should pay more attention to it; (2) we should know some self-protecting ways of disasters; (3) the rescue teams reflected our national cohesion and the relationship between our country and other countries.Step 6 Summary and Homework (2-8 mins.)A. After the discussion I will ask some students to give us the summary of this lesson: we have learned the passage A Night The Earth Didn’t Sleep, and we find the answers of these questions which were written on the blackboard, and we also got the idea of the relationship between our country and other countries and the reasons of disasters like earthquake and others, and we should protect our environment.B. Homework:I will let students search for the other disasters like Typhoon, storm, flood, and so on, and choose one to compare the same and different points with earthquake.Ⅵ. 下面我将一一为大家介绍我的教学内容:一、说教材本课是NEW SENIOR ENGLISH FOR CHINA STUDENT’S BOOK 1第四单元第二课时:阅读课,话题为“地震”,主要描写了1976年唐山大地震,各项语言活动也都是围绕地震展开。
阅读部分在本单元中所占比例较大,而且也是重点内容之一。
因此,本节课主要是锻炼学生的阅读技巧和增加学生的一些相关的知识层面。
使其对地震有更进一步的认识。
二、说教学目标根据教学大纲和《新课程标准》(实验稿)的具体要求,并结合高一年级学生现有的知识水平和认真特点,我设计的教学目标是:1.知识目标:能掌握本节课重点词汇、短语和句子,如pipe, suffer, as if, in ruin;2.能力目标:能和别人谈论有关地震的话题,能学到一些自救的方法和能带着问题从文中找到答案;3.情感目标:能将地震与其它自然灾害联系在一起,从灾难的营救工作中联想到我们国家民族的凝聚力以及各国之间的友谊,最后还应该要树立起保护环境的意识。
