Vanuatu's islands also offer visitors two of the most exciting and dangerous activities in the world: volcano surfing and land diving. On Tanna Island, Mount Yasur rises 300 meters(1,000 feet)into the sky. Yasur is one of a few active volcanoes in the country. It erupts(喷发)almost every day, sometimes several times a day. For centuries, both island locals and visitors have climbed this mountain to visit the top. Recently, people have also started climbing Yasur to surf the volcano. In some ways, volcano surfing is like surfing in the sea, but in other ways, it's very different. A volcano surfer's goal is to escape the erupting volcano—without being hit by flying rocks! It's fast, fun and dangerous—the perfect extreme sport. Most people are familiar with bungee jumping. He built a large network of roads. He introduced a new writing system, currency, and set of measurements. The emperor also ordered the construction of a huge army of life-sized terracotta soldiers(兵马俑). These, he hoped, would protect his tomb after his death. The soldiers in Xi'an's terracotta museum are today light brown, but they weren't always. They began as an army of red, blue, yellow, green, white, and purple. Sadly, most of the colors did not last to the present day. After being exposed to air during excavation(挖掘), the coating under the paint began to fall off. The paint disappeared in less time than it takes to boil an egg, taking with it important pieces of history. Now new techniques are starting to reveal the army's true colors. Archaeologists (考古学家)have recently discovered an area with more than a hundred soldiers. Many of these still have their painted features, including black hair, pink faces, and black or brown eyes. Chinese and German researchers have developed a special liquid to help preserve the soldiers' colors. After they find a soldier or other artifacts(手工艺品), archaeologists spray it with the liquid. They then cover it in plastic.Archaeologists are also finding colors in the dirt around the soldiers. It's important not to disturb the dirt, so the colors won't be lost. "We are treating the earth as an artifact," says archeologist Rong Bo, the museum's leading chemist. The next challenge, says Rong, is to find a way to apply the colors to the army again. Once that happens, artists can bring Emperor Qin's army back to life in full, vivid color.() 41. From online learning platforms to interactive teaching tools, technology has changed the way students learn and teachers teach. In this essay, discuss the positive and negative impacts of technology on education.Technology has revolutionized the way we learn and teach. It has made education more accessible, personalized, and engaging for students of all ages. Online learning platforms, such as Coursera and Khan Academy, provide students with access to a wide range of courses and resources that they might not have had access to otherwise. These platforms allow students to learn at their own pace and on their own schedule, making education more flexible and convenient.Technology has also made education more personalized. With the use of data analytics and artificial intelligence, teachers can better understand their students' strengths and weaknessesand tailor their teaching to meet the needs of each individual student. This personalized approach can help students learn more effectively and retain information better.Furthermore, technology has made education more engaging. Interactive teaching tools, such as virtual reality and gamification, can make learning more interactive and fun for students. These tools can help students stay motivated and focused, and can make learning more enjoyable. However, despite the many benefits of technology in education, there are also some drawbacks. One of the main concerns is the impact of technology on students' ability to focus and retain information. With the constant distractions of smartphones and social media, students may find it difficult to concentrate on their studies and may struggle to retain information.Another concern is the digital divide. Not all students have access to technology or the internet, which can create disparities in access to education. This can be particularly problematic for students from low-income backgrounds, who may not have access to the same resources as their wealthier peers. In conclusion, technology has had a significant impact on education, both positive and negative. While it has madeeducation more accessible, personalized, and engaging, it has also raised concerns about students' ability to focus and retain information, as well as disparities in access to technology. It is important for educators and policymakers to find a balance between leveraging the benefits of technology and addressing its challenges in order to ensure that all students have access to a quality education.篇32020 Anhui Adult College Entrance Examination English Writing TopicInstructions: Write an essay on the following topic in no less than 2000 words.Topic: The Impact of Technology on EducationWith the rapid development of technology, it has greatly influenced every aspect of our lives, including education. In recent years, the integration of technology in education has become more and more common. In this essay, we will discuss the impact of technology on education in terms of teaching methods, learning outcomes, and the future of education.Firstly, technology has revolutionized teaching methods. Traditional teaching methods such as lectures and textbooks areno longer the only ways to impart knowledge. Nowadays, teachers can use multimedia tools such as videos and interactive software to make classes more interesting and engaging. This not only helps students better understand the material but also improves their retention of information. Additionally, technology allows for more personalized learning experiences, as students can access online resources and receive personalized feedback from teachers.Secondly, technology has greatly improved learning outcomes. With the help of educational software and online resources, students can access a wealth of information beyond what is available in textbooks. This allows students to explore topics in depth and at their own pace. Moreover, technology enables collaborative learning, where students can work on projects together online, regardless of their physical location. This fosters creativity and critical thinking skills, which are essential for the 21st century workforce.Lastly, technology has the potential to shape the future of education. With the rise of online learning platforms and virtual classrooms, the traditional model of education is being challenged. In the future, we may see a shift towards more personalized and flexible learning experiences, where studentscan learn anytime and anywhere. Additionally, technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality have the potential to revolutionize the way we learn, making education more interactive and engaging. In conclusion, technology has had a profound impact on education, transforming teaching methods, improving learning outcomes, and shaping the future of education. As technologies continue to evolve, educators must adapt to these changes and embrace the opportunities that technology offers to enhance the learning experience for students. By harnessing the power of technology, we can create a more dynamic and effective educational system for the future.。
