老舍茶馆地处前门,是寸土寸金之地。
内部的装饰格调以传统的中式装饰为主,颜色较深,宫灯、红木桌椅及舞台古色古香,营业面积及茶桌数都有相当规模,在这里,可以饮茶也可以点菜,还有烤鸭供应,提供的服务品种较齐。
老舍茶馆另外一个特色就是佛教的色彩较浓,进门及各层平台均有佛像供奉。
上老舍茶馆饮茶要到三楼,茶叶的品种以花茶、绿茶为多,茶水服务以杯茶(盖碗为主,兼有乌龙,大约有二十余种茶品),配茶的小点心是自制的,品种较多,有一定的特色。
老舍茶馆的客人以外国游客和旅游者为多,在每周的一、三、五下午有戏迷乐活动及京剧演唱,晚上的戏曲及杂技表演17:40开始,票价40元人—130元人,内容有双簧、单弦、京剧彩唱等,精彩热闹,家里要是来了外国朋友或是外地亲戚,老舍茶馆不失为一个招待的好去处。
