教材分析本单元的主要内容是利用“used to”来谈论过去的经历、习惯和爱好等等并通过与现在的对比来体会过去与现在的不同。

整个单元围绕目标句型展开了听力、阅读、写作等的训练，并练习了目标语言的各种句式,重点突出，也易于引起学生的兴趣。

学情分析本单元的话题比较切合学生的实际，因而可供学生谈论的内容也较多，但需要教师的引导；学生之间通过三年的相处，对于现在的情况比较熟悉，但之间肯定也有许多不为他人所知的事情等等，因而也就建立了信息沟，为本课的顺利进行奠定了一定的基础。
