如：a map in colours彩色地图Its colour is blue.它的颜色是蓝色。
【延伸】（1）colour还可以用作动词，意为“给……着色”，可构成此结构：colour+sth.+表颜色的形容词。
如：①Please colour it red.请把它涂成红色。
②Please colour the flower yellow.请把这朵花涂成黄色。
（2）coloured为形容词，意为“有色的；着色的”。
如：This is a coloured pen.这是一支彩色笔。
（3）colourful也为形容词，意为“颜色鲜艳的；丰富多彩的”。
如：I have a colourful life.我的生活丰富多彩。
2. what colour什么颜色【点拨】what colour意为“什么颜色”。
如：—What colour are these flowers?这些花是什么颜色的？—Red.红色的。
3. red红色的；black黑色的；blue蓝色的；green绿色的；white白色的；yellow黄色的；brown 棕色的；orange橘黄色的【点拨】这是一组表示颜色的形容词，它们在句中既可以放在名词前面作定语，修饰这个名词，也可以放在be动词后面作表语。
如：①I like red apples.我喜欢红苹果。
（red放在名词apples前作定语）②The apples are red.这些苹果是红色的。
（red放在be动词are后作表语）【延伸】（1）orange还可以用作名词，意为“柑橘；橙”。
（2）表示颜色的形容词，在句中单独作表语时，不能与冠词连用。
如：The flower is white.这朵花是白色的。
（3）green还可以用作名词，意为“绿色”。
