Study becomes more relaxed and pleased in this kind of environment.Study methodTeach the students how to be successful language learners.Ⅵ.Teaching procedures and purposes of designing.Step1. Class opening and review1. Greet the whole class as usual.2. Using a song to review. “I like bananas.”3. Free talk between teacher and students about the song. The question is: Do you like bananas? /What do you like? /What’s your favourite food ? And then I will let the students ask and answer in pairs .Make sure the students ask and answer correctly. They can use the words: juice, meat, apple, bananas, fish, chicken and vegetables.Purpose of my designing: To form a better surrounding for the students by singing a song and speaking and at the same time it provides situations to review learnt knowledge for the next step.Step2. Key concepts1. Let’s guess. In this part, I’ll let the students enjoy a short riddle. “I am food. I am red .I am from animals. What am I? ”And show the answer by picture. Then I will say “Meat can make me strong, but also can make me fat, so I don’t like meat, do you like meat?” Help the students understand the meaning by body language. The students will answer “Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.” Write the sentences “I like... / I don’t like...”on the blackboard. Then lead the Ss to read the sentences. Make sure they can say them out correctly.2. DemonstrateI’ll use the other pictures to teach the target words“rice, dumplings and noodles”. At the same time show the target sentence under the picture on the screen. “My favourite food is noodles/ dumplings”and write the sentence on the blackboard. The purpose is to present the key words one by one. And this is mucheasier for the students to learn and grasp the meaning.3. Drill and practiceGame1:”One, Two, bomb”Game2: “What’s missing?”This activity gives student practice in mastering the target words.4. Listen and read.I give the students 3 questions before read along the CD.Questions:What food does Li Ming like? What food does not Li Ming like? What is Li Ming’s favourite food? After reading, talk about the questions in pairs. Then I’ll ask volunteers to answer.5. Make a dialogue and act it out.Divide the class into small groups and make a dialogue about food. I’ll ask some pairs to present their conversations to the class. This activity provides guided oral practice using the target language.Step 3: Class closingHomework:1.
