活动主要议程:研磨论文苏州市教育学会外语教学专业委员会征集2006——2007年度中小学英语教学论文,时间4月20日前。
为此,已提前通知各位教师做好准备。
本次活动,主要讨论三位青年教师的论文。
活动前,潘老师和顾老师已将论文发送至各自指导老师信箱。
活动中,打印出草稿,人手一份,进行细致而深刻地研磨。
1、顾勤燕老师《用欢笑缔造和谐课堂》优点:选材较好,都是捕捉了自己在课堂教学中的教学机智,通过教师的巧妙处理,营造了和谐氛围,并在这样的环节中感受、复习英语知识。
存在问题:1)第三点“在欢笑声中操练句型”不属于教学机智,建议删除,以后可单独成文。
2)论文题目要修改,体现“教学机智、欢笑、和谐”三层意思。
3)论文引言太冗长,要凝练。
4)论文标题要紧扣论文主题,建议修改。
5)过于口语化的句子要修改。
2、潘洁老师《PPT之我见——PPT课件在小学英语中的运用》优点:立意较好,素材较好,都是自己在教学中坚持使用PPT的做法与心得。
并阐述了多媒体课件从公开课走向家常课的优点,每一个论点的素材都非常好。
存在问题:1)第一点“FLASH激趣,引入英语课堂”与本文主题不是很切合,建议删除,或者放在下面的论点中。
2)论文引言太冗长,要凝练。
3)论文有7大部分,似乎过多。
建议重新组织素材,可从四方面来论证:单词教学、句型操练、课文呈现、综合运用。
4)论文标题要修改。
5)注意标点符号的正确使用,注意使用书面语言。
3、杨晓婷老师《错误之美》因为杨老师准备本科考试,论文尚未完全成文。
优点:案例的选取非常有代表性,进行仔细发掘之后可以得到很好的反思。
存在问题:这一段案例的描述过于冗长,是否可以支解成几个片段,每个片段进行一段教学反思。
最后再加以归纳总结。

过去我们强调那种教师填鸭式讲解,学生记笔记、背条条、背课文的死记硬背的学习方式。
那么现代英语教学中还要不要背诵?怎样背诵?艾宾浩斯遗忘曲线指出,学生学过的东西,二十分钟之后忘记 40%,当天忘记70%,第二天忘记75%。
根据这一先快后慢的遗忘规律,我们必须让学生及时复习学过的知识,特别是单词,以减少遗忘。
再者,外语教学中适当的强化记忆也是必要的。
对一些句型搭配及习语等,必须准确掌握,因而需要一定的强化记忆手段。
在教学过程中我们也必须适当地运用强化记忆的方法。
现在我们完全可以采用在“图文提示”下让学生背诵或复述课文的方法。
《新目标英语》每一页都有幽默生动的画面,而文字材料相对来讲占的比例小一点,我们可让学生看图说话,看表格讲句子,只要学生能熟练地运用语言,我们的目的也就达到了。
这种全新的背诵模式,完全不是死记硬背。
它的高明之处,是把背诵变成了学生在具体的语言环境中运用语言的过程。
同时,具体语言情境中的背诵充分发挥了学生的智力作用,因而能达到快速、高效。

语言交际是一种充满创造性的心智活动,多设计一些能启迪学生思维,激发学生学习热情的任务型活动,可以提高学生的综合运用语言能力。
(1)名片/地图式----例如在教学了JEFC Bookl Lesson120后,可布置一个任务:让学生设计自己的名片,学了BookII Lesson28后,任务如下:画一幅自己居住地的地图,并编一个对话。
(2)辩论式----例如在学完BookIILesson30后,可设计一个话题让学生进行辩论:Is the business man good or bad?(3)竞赛式----学生好胜心理和集体荣誉感很强,通过竞赛的方式可以促使学生主动参与活动。
例如,在教学完形容词后,可设计如下任务:a、在黑板上写10个形容词(应有明确的反义词),b、把学生分成两人一对或四人一组进行讨论分别找出其反义词并写在纸上。
c、把所找出的反义词都一一对应地写在黑板上,然后擦去原词,看谁先根据所找出反义词再恢复原词。
又如:在学完“Come to the party”后,将学生分为4个小组,各组组员在组长的带领下展开备战工作,其中包括:给小组命名、选评委、制作记分卡、演练节目。
采取传话、猜词、具体表演、疯狂操练、游戏时间等题目,让人人都参与到活动中去。
(4)写作式----写作可以提高学生的语篇能力,有利于学生对自己的语言错误和语言方面的不足有更清楚认识,同时也可以丰富学生的想象力。
例如,在教学BookII Lesson46后,可设计如下天气预报,让学生写作:成都未来24小时天气预报今天晚上有雨,部分地区有大雨 2-9 明天上午有云,风向偏东,风力不大 9-12明天下午晴天 12-16(5)绘画式----例如:在教学了There be句型后,可设计如下任务:让学生设计自己的房间。
(6)表格式----例如:在教学了Family and Work后可布置如下任务:让学生建一个家庭档案Family member Name Age Job Hobbies(7)对话式----例如:BookI Lesson75,让学生看图编对话,下面是一组学生编的对话:A: What can you see in the picture?B: I can see some bananas.A: How many bananas can you see?B: I can see three.A: I don’t think so. 因为学生兴趣与学习效果及教学效果密切相关。
脱离学生的生活实际而设计的活动根本唤不起学生的学习兴趣,更达不到运用英语进行交际的目的。
因此,教师在设计教学活动时应尽量以学生的生活经验和兴趣为出发点。
例如:学习JEFC Book II Lesson23‘Who has the coin’教师可创设如下活动:(1)简单介绍游戏规则,同时处理新单词和词组。
(2)在教师指导下做游戏。
(3)鼓励学生用自己的语言描述游戏的规则。
在整个教学过程中学生是主角,通过亲身参与活动,通过描述游戏规则,使其口头表达能力有较大的提高。
又如:在学完unit10TheSwedishRockBand后,可要求学生课后写一篇名为MY favorite pop singer的文章。

现在我们流行这样一种说法:一节课老师最多讲15分钟,剩下的要么是开展活动,要么就是让学生自学。
《新目标英语》中每单元至少有两篇阅读材料,我们现在一般都采用阅读教学法,通过发现问题、分析问题、解决问题来获得知识,强调自学与合作学习。
那么在课堂教学中教师到底要不要讲?究竟应该怎样讲?叶圣陶先生曾说过:讲当然是必要的,问题可能在如何看待讲和怎样讲。
可见教师并不是不能讲,而是要“精要地讲”。
再说,只让学生畅抒己见而没有教师精当的讲授和适时的点拨,学生的思维不可能深入;只让学生想象体验而没有教师开启智慧的引导,学生的创新精神很难得到培养;只让学生诵读感悟而没有教师的品词析句,学生的学习势必缺少深度和广度。
因此教师作为学生学习的组织者、引导者、促进者,必须从教育规律和学生实际出发,精心设计好自己的“讲解点”。
那么,在何时精要地讲呢?1、自读之前启发讲:即在学生自主阅读之前,简明扼要地揭示阅读要求和重点。
2、重点地方着重讲:对材料中的重点、难点和关键之处,在学生自读、自悟的基础上进行重点讲解,该挖掘处必挖掘,该品味,该讲深讲透的地方必须讲深讲透。
3、疑难问题明确讲:当学生在材料理解上遇到疑难时教师要鲜明地讲,从而为学生解难释疑,让学生正确理解、领悟材料内容。
4、合作中提示讲:当学生在合作学习中不能抓住要点进行有效合作时,教师要进行提示性讲解,以使合作有效、深入。
5、总结时补充讲:在总结一节课、一篇材料的阅读情况时,在学生概括、总结的基础上,教师要及时进行补充,以进一步进行提炼和归纳,从而使总结更加完整、准确。

《新目标英语》设计了大量的听说材料,而现在这些听力材料正成为学生学习过程中的一个难点。
那么,我们如何改变现状呢?1、首先进行大量的听说训练。
“听”是对输入信息的“加工”,“说”是表达,是“输出”,没有输入就没有输出。
在听懂的基础上说,在说的同时增强听的能力,使两者有机结合,相互促进。
听说训练包括听音答问、听后复述、听后解释和听后辩论等。
而初中侧重听音答问和听后复述。
2、接着进行听写训练。
有意识地安排听写一些音相近的单词,一些含有同化、强弱读、连读、失去爆破或包含否定的句子;听写有数字、人名、地名、年龄、尺码的对话和短文。
听音画勾或打圈,听音选图,听音标号或排序以强化学生的记忆力。
3、注重听读训练。
即听完一两遍录音后,让学生进行模仿跟读。
心理学研究表明,青少年在发音、动作、习惯方面的模仿能力极强。
学生在跟读时,仔细揣摩句子的重读、弱读、失爆规则从而掌握一些朗读技巧。
同时朗读对培养学生对语言的感觉提高对语言的感悟力有着极其重要的作用。
4、培养良好的听说习惯。

词汇量大自然也就增加了教学的难度,但我们又必须让学生掌握,否则难以适应教材的要求。
那么我们该采取什么方式来教学单词?实践证明,传统教学中,靠讲解和机械操练掌握词汇的方法是不行的。
尤其在当前中、小学英语脱节,词汇量大,教学任务重的形势下,我们更应注重培养学生自学的能力。
我认为我们应做好下列几点:1、重示范。
在教单词时,要求教师自己示范到位,发音清晰,讲解发音要点。
同时培养学生认真听,专心看,积极模仿的好习惯。
听清后再跟说。
确定学生大都听清,模仿正确后,再出示单词卡片,以免分散学生的注意力。
对直观的单词配以图片、体态语帮助学生理解。
顺利完成音——形——义的逐步过度。
2、重情景。
单词是构成语言的三大要素之一。
人类思维活动是借助词汇进行的。
人类思想的交流也是通过由词构成的句子来实现的。
没有词汇任何语言都是不可想象的。
因此单词具有语言的意义,应在特定的语境中引出,这样既便于学生理解,印象也深刻。
3、重迁移。
在教学中我们应提倡“新旧贯通”或叫“相互迁移”。
其实这也是一个很好的学习方法。
如:pen----pencil-----pencil-box ,day----today----monday----tuesday----yesterday,all---tall---ball----small 等等。
4、重趣味。
英国著名语言家c.e 埃克斯利说:“教英语的最好的方法就是能引起学生学习英语兴趣的那种方法。
”我们在单词教学中不能一味让学生死记硬背,而应尝试运用多种形式巧记。
如采用儿歌、猜谜语、简笔画等形式。
5、重运用。
学习单词的目的是为了运用词汇,并能正确运用到笔头表达之中。
在英语教学中创设一定的语言情景,使学生宛如置于一种真实的语言环境中,就能使学生自然而然使用所学习词汇来表达他们的思想感情,从而达到学以至用的效果。
