初步了解语篇翻译的难点及其处理；通过对本文的翻译，了解翻译的艰辛，同时通过对主人公事迹的学习，加强学生的德育教育，寓德育教育于课堂教育中。

教学重点：把握在语篇翻译中使用各种翻译技巧，了解语篇翻译的难点及其处理。

教学难点：长句的翻译。

教学内容：Three Days to SeeBy Helen Keller摘自：许明龙译，选自《英语名作佳译赏析》，世界图书出版公司，1999。

四. 形式上否定，意义上肯定 形式上否定， 有些英语句子或短语形式上是否定的，意 义上却是肯定的。这类句子一般可译成汉 语的肯定句。现分述如下：

1．“nothing” 有时意为“零”、“正好”。 如： 1) Multiply 6 by nothing, and the result is nothing. 六乘以零等于零。 2) He is five foot nothing. 他整整五英尺高。

三. 双重否定 双重否定指两个否定词并用，否定同一个 单词，或者一个否定词否定另一个词，其 否定意义互相抵消而取得肯定意义。汉译 时可译成肯定句。如：

英汉翻译--3翻译技巧-重复与避免重复

Milk is sold by the pound.
牛奶按磅计价。（牛奶是 论磅卖。）
不宜省略
当然，有些场合，冠词是不能省略的。比如不定冠词a 或an 表示数量 “一”时，定冠词the 表示“这”或“那”时，均不能省略。
He left without a word. 他一句话不说就走了。 He said he was getting a dollar a mile. 他说他每开一英里就赚一元钱。

三. 省去泛指的人称代词 英语句子的主语都是泛指的，在译成汉语时，多省掉。
We have 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. 一个星期有7天， 一天有24小时。

从语法角度进行省略
英汉两种语言在语法上差异较大，例如： 英语经常使用人称代词、关系代词等代词，而汉语代词则
用得较少；
英语重形合、连接词较多，而汉语重意合、连接词较少； 英语有冠词，而汉语没有； 英语介词丰富，而汉语介词较少。 因此，英译汉时可在不损害准确传达原文内容的前提下根
据具体情况将代词、连接词、冠词、介词等略去。

四. 省去作主语的人称代词
英语中通常每句都有主语。人称代词作主语时，重复出现，但 根据汉语习惯，但前句出现一个主语且后句仍为同一主语时， 后句主语一般省掉，符合汉语的表达习惯。如：

以like为例：

Don‟t treat me like a guest. （介词） Like enough, the ship will arrive in the port tomorrow. （副词/likely） Like knows like.（名词）
