Book2 Unit2说课稿师范英语二班闫丽莹201334010225Good morning everyone. It’s my honor to share my lesson with you. My teaching material is from New Senior English for Chinese Student Book2 Unit2, the title is “ An Interview”, the reading part.part1: Teaching Material1.The analysis of teaching material and students. This reading is an interview between Li Yan,a volunteer from 2008 Olympic games and Pausanias, a Greek writer about 2000 years ago, so it may introduce the differences between ancient and modern Olympic games, in this reading, students can learn more Olympic games and reading skills, especially the skimming reading and careful reading. Because our students are all senior one, the words they learned are not enough and ability of spoken English is a little poor, so lead students to be interested in English learning is seems more important. Because this topic is related to our life, 2016 Olympic game will host in Rio soon, so I think it is helpful to raise their learning interests and increase the quantity of reading. Recently the Ministry of Education promulgates the 20 books of high school students, half of them are foreign books. So we can see, it is more and more important to learn English and do English reading.2. Teaching Aims. The teaching aims of this period include 5 aspects: knowledge, skill, cultural, emotional attitude and learning strategy. The first one: about knowledge students are able to know, understand and use new words and phrases, for example: Greek, volunteer, take part in, and practice new sentence pattern: What would like to know? I’d like to know…The second one: about skill, students will read this article twice and think, learn together in order to strengthen language awareness, accumulate language experience, improve reading skill (skimming and careful reading) even to conclude and summarize.T he third one: about culture, students can master the origin and development of the Olympics. The fourth one: emotional attitude, students are able to know more about Olympic, experience Olympic spirit: Never abandon and never give up. Students will practice the dialogue with partner, talk about Olympic use the knowledge we learned in this class.5. Teaching Methods. There are two kinds of teaching methods: Task-based language teaching method and heuristic teaching method. I will introduce them in details in next part.Part 2 Teaching Methods.About teaching methods:In this period, I am going to use two kinds of teaching methods. One is task-based language teaching method: firstly, students will be asked to read two questions before we start the first reading then start reading and find the answers. This teaching method helps students to find out the answer quickly and effectively. Another one is heuristic teaching method, in careful reading part, according to the differences between modern and ancient Olympic Games, lead students to find out the similarities. In homework part, teacher will ask students to take a role-playing task: if you are a volunteer in 2016 Rio Olympic Games, what would you want to prepare for it? This teaching method helps students to know how to infer other things from one fact. It’s a really good learning method, students will find more knowledge and interests by themself. Part 3.learning methodAbout learning method:There are two kinds of learning methods: autonomic learning method and cooperative learning method. In the first reading and practice part (find out the reasons why or why not we host the Olympic games)students asked to finished the task by themselves so they have to learn, think, analyze and sum up problems. Another is cooperative learning method, for example, in second reading part: students are asked to learn together to find out the differences between ancient and modern Olympic games. In practice part, students will have dialogue with partners to talk about Olympic Games. It is helpful for students to form the spirit of cooperation and team work. Teacher will listen to students carefully when they discuss in group and instruct them when they have some problems.Part 4 Teaching procedureStep1.Revision (1 minute)In this step, I will extend to students and introduce myself, students will also extend their greeting to me. This part is to remind everyone it is time for class.Step2.Lead-in (5minutes)At first, i will show you a song: 《北京欢迎你》together. Lead students to think about 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. But when students think about reasons not to host they have to think by themselves. This part is to practice their autonomic learning method and cooperative learning method. After that, students will have an interview between their partners and talk about Olympic games with the knowledge we learn in this reading. She endured my depression, but did not allow me to complain. As a believer in tough love , she was not about to let me just lie around either. My wife, Anna’s secret is that she learns from life, and move on. Thirty years ago, she got breast cancer. She dealt with it with great courage and optimism and she helped others after she recovered. Her method is to find ways to help others and I have been the biggest beneficiary.U4 Cultural EncountersBackground:We live in an age of easy access to the rest of the world.Cheap flights mean that millions of people are able to visit places their parents could only dream about, while the Internet enables us to communicate with the remotest placesTransitional Sentence:English has simply become the language that facilitates communication, and for many people learning English is an essential stepping stone on the road to successTransitional Sentence:Significantly also, this great global communications revolution is also linked to the expansion of English, which has now become the leading international languagetopic sentence:Most fundamental is the profound relationship between language and culture that lies at the heart of society and one that we overlook at our peril. Now:Millions of people are discovering how to bridge cultures, while the English-speaking world becomes ever more complacent and cuts down on foreign language learning programmes in the mistaken belief that it is enough to know EnglishFuture attitudce:World peace in the future depends on intercultural understanding. I tend to believe this true, for I, as a man ,am living my third life now. My first life began when I was born into a large family, I began my second life when I was afflicted with a slowly progressive disease of the motor nerves. In spite of my disease , I managed to keep my health and optimism to a degree by climbing 14 steps every day. Those 14 steps were a gauge of my life. As I become older ,I become more disillusioned .Then on a dark stormy night ,my third life began .I was driving home in the rain ,then my car got a flat tire and I was stuck them on a less-traveled road. I ask for help from a house near the little side road. A little girlcame out with her grandpa after I explained my trouble. When I sitting comfortable and dry in the car ,they were repairing my car in the rain. Finally after their work done ,I offered 5-dollar bill, but was rejected. The man was already horrified by the war he was involved in. All the time he was his brothers-in-arms killed and houses destroyed, and the original confidence to win yielded to hopelessness and self-questioning: What fools they were. He was constantly in danger. Only thoughts of his family brought him a momentary stay out of frustration and despair. After the reflections on their own enthusiasm andconfidence about the war, in the second entry, the author continued to ponder over the cause of war and the people who started the war. He was so infuriated that he said, “It is no excuse for ending innocent lives and destroying whole countries .”The last letter entry was the most fearful part of the story. The location of the soldiers was being invaded when the author wrote the diary, hidden in a small trench. Through he tried to keep himself “from panicking”, the Nazi soldier was coming in the direction. We can only surmise that this unknown must have been killed then, but the last question he asked may linger in our mind for long :Why?U7 Letter to a B StudentA teacher’s letter to a student explains what hisB grade for the course does and does not represent in the terms of the student’s achievement or success as a human being or in the future accomplishment .In the today’s society , the grade determines eligibility for graduate school and special programs and at last success in the future. But put in perspective ,grade B simply means that one can successfully competed a specific course of study. But as a measurement tool the grade is a rather fuzzy symbol .So we should differentiate the student as performer at school and human being in the society.Grade B student does not guarantee that from now on we forever B performers .We should shift to ourselves ,locating goals and opportunities in frustrations in the frustrations and obstacle we may encounter in our journey of life/U8 Focus on Global WarmingThe text is centered on the problem of global warming. And now global warming is receives worldwide attention because of its possible influence upon the Earth we have living on.Global warming is perhaps the single largest threat to our planet. The very root of the temperature increase is that human being create much greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide. The scientific searches prove that the amount of the first two reaches the highest point in the past 420000 years and they help excessive heat from leaving the Earth. With the hotter summer and few cool days ,some low-lying nations would be awash in seawater. What is more ,we would likely have more days of perilous air quality and have more risk of developing respiratory problems. As a result, to slow global warming ,we should cut down the emission of heart-trapping gases. It require everyone to work together to change the current situation we find ourselves in.U9 What Is Happiness? The text tell us what is the idea about“happiness,”and we can find that the idea of happiness to be sure, will not sit still for easy definition. In the first sentence , the author tell us that happiness is never more than partial and there are no pure states of mankind. We can find the writer want to let us know whatever else happiness may be, it is neither in having nor in being, but in becoming. At the last paragraph , Founding Fathers declared, we should do well to remember, was not happiness but the pursuit of happiness market, is the cardinal fact that happiness is in the pursuit itself, in the meaningful pursuit of what is life-engaging and life-revealing,.In a word , in the idea of becoming. A nation is not measured by what it possesses or wants to possess, but by what it wants to become.U10 The Jeaning of AmericaBlue jeans, more suitable than the dollar and Cola, have become an American symbol. In the second, the text introduces us that the Levis Strauss’ life in New York. Unit 2 Stress and strain1 Introduction to mechanics of materials Mechanics of materials is a branch of applied mechanics that deals with the behaviour of solid bodies subjected to various types of loading. It is a field of study that is known by variety of names, including “strength of materials ” and “mechanics of deformable bodies” . The solid bodies considered in this book include axially-loaded bars, shafts, beams, and columns, as well as structures that are assemblies of these component s. Usually the objective of our analysis will be the determination of stresses, strain s, and the deformation s produced by the loads; if these quantities can be found for all values of load up to the failure load, then we will have obtaine d a complete picture of the mechanical behaviour of the body.Theoretical analysis and experimental results have equally important roles in the study of mechanics of materials. On many occasions we will make logical derivations to obtain formulas and equation s for predicting mechanical behaviour, but at the same time we must recognize that these formulascan not be used in a realistic way unless certain properties of the material are known. These properties are available to us only after suitable experiments have been made in laboratory. Also, many problems of importance in engineering can not be handle d efficiently by theoretical mean s, and experimental measurement s become a practical necessity. The historical development of mechanics of material is a fascinating blend of both theory and experiment, with experiments pointing the way to useful results in some instances and with theory doing so in others. Such famous men as Leonard da vinci(1452-1519) and Galileo Galilei(1564-1642) made experiments to determine the strength of wires, bars, and beams, although they did not develop any adequate theories(by today’s standards) to explain their test results. By contrast, the famous mathematician Leonhard Euler(1707-1783) developed the mathematical theory of columns and calculated the critical load of a column in 1744, long before any experimental evidence existed to show the significance of his results. Thus, Euler’s theoretical resultsremained unused for many years, although today they form the basis of column theory. The importance of combining theoretical derivations with experimentally determined properties of materials will be evident as we proceed with our study of the subject. In this section we will begin by discussing some fundamental concept s, such as stress and strain, and then we will investigate the behaviour of simple structural elements subjected to tension, compression, and shear.2 StressThe concepts of stress and strain can be illustrated in an elementary way by considering the extension of prismatic bar[see Fig. 1.4(a)]. A prismatic bar is one that has constant cross section throughout its length and a straight axis. In this illustration the bar is assumed to be loaded at its ends by axial forces P that produce a uniform stretching, or tension, of the bar. By making an artificial cut(section mm) through the bar at right angle s to its axis, we can isolate part of the bar as a free body[Fig.1.4(b)]. At the right-hand end the tensile force P isapplied, and at the other end there are forces representing the action of the removed portion of the bar upon the part that remains. These forces will be continuously distributed over the cross section, analogous to the conditions distribution of hydrostatic pressure over a submerged surface. The intensity of force, that is, the per unit area , is called the stress and is commonly denoted by the Greek letter σ. Assum ing that the stress has a uniform distribution over the cross section[see Fig.1.4(b)], we can readily see that its resultant is equal to the intensity σ times the cross-sectional area A of the bar. Furthermore, from the equilibrium of the body shown in Fig1.4(b), we can also see that this resultant must be equal in magnitude and opposite in direction to the force P . Hence, we obtainAP =σ as the equation for the uniform stress in a prismatic bar. This equation shows that stress has units of force divided by area---for example, Newtons per square millimeter(N/m 2) or pounds per square inch(psi). When the bar is being stretched by the force P , asshown in the figure, the resulting stress is a tensile stress; if the forces are reversed in direction, causing the bar to be compressed, they are called compressive stresses.A necessary for Eq.(1.3) to be valid is that the stress σmust be uniform over the cross section of the bar. This condition will be realized if the axial force P acts through the centroid of the cross section, as can be demonstrated by statics. When the load P does not act at the centroid, bending of the bar will result, and a more complicated analysis is necessary. Throughout this book, however, it is assumed that all axial forces are applied at the centroid of the cross section unless specifically stated to the contrary. Also, unless stated otherwise, it is generally assumed that the weight of the object itself is neglected, as was done when discussing the bar in Fig.1.4.3 StrainThe total elongation of the bar carrying an axial force will be denoted by the Greek letter δ[see Fig.1.4(a)], and the elongation per unit length, or s train, is then determined by the equitionL δε= (1.4)where L is the total length of the bar. Note that the strain ε is nondimensional quantity . It can be obtained accurately from Eq.(1.4) as long as the strain is uniform throughout the length of the bar. If the bar is in tension, the strain is a tensile strain , representing an elongation or a stretching of the material; if the bar is in compression, the strain is a compressive strain, which means that adjacent cross sections of the bar move closer to one another.。

专业英语演讲稿带翻译(精选多篇)演讲一:The Importance of Critical Thinking in Today’s Society Good morning, everyone. Today, I would like to talk about the importance of critical thinking in today’s society. As we navigate through an increasingly complex and interconnected world, it is becoming more and more important to be able to critically analyze the information that we are presented with. This means asking questions, challenging assumptions, and evaluating evidence in order to come to a well-reasoned and informed conclusion.Critical thinking is important not only in our personal lives, but also in our professional lives. Employers are looking for individuals who can think critically and creatively, solve problems, and make informed decisions. In fact, a recent study found that more than two-thirds of employers believe that critical thinking is among the most important skills for their employees to possess. Moreover, critical thinking is a key component of being an informed and engaged citizen. In a world where misinformation and propaganda are all too common, it is essential that we are able to separate fact from fiction and make informed decisions about the issues that affect us all.So, how do we develop our critical thinking skills? One way is through education. By encouraging students to think critically and providing them with the necessary tools and resources, we can help them develop the skills they need to succeed in a complex world.Another way is by actively seeking out different viewpoints and perspectives, and being open to challenging our own assumptions and beliefs. Instead of simply accepting what we are told, we should approach everything with a healthy degree of skepticismand a willingness to question what we think we know.In conclusion, the ability to think critically is more important now than ever before. By developing our critical thinking skills, we can become more informed, successful, and engaged members of society.谢谢大家!Translation:大家早上好。
