Compare the different kinds of transportation you could use. Tell which method of travel you would choose. Give specific reasons for yourchoice. If I had to travel 40 miles away from my home I would be considering the following means of transportations: a car, bicycle and bus. Every of this methods of transportation has advantages as well as disadvantages. In this essay I will analyze all of them and present my view in favor of traveling by a car.Traveling by bus brings many benefits. First of all, one does not have to drive. So, I can just relax and enjoy the view from my window. Second of all, it is cheaper. I will not have to buy gasoline or pay for the car insurance. However, traveling by bus has a few disadvantages as well. For example, I will have to follow the bus schedule. Another important aspect, I will not be able to arrange the speed or make a stop when I need to.From the other hand, traveling by bicycle is a great exercise. Secondly, it is pollution free. However, It can take too much time and at the end of my trip I will be tired and exhausted. In addition, I will most likely need a shower and some rest.In contrast, traveling by car brings many advantages. First of all, I can arrange my speed as I want to. If I am in a hurry I will speed up a little. Otherwise, if I am not in a hurry, I can make some stops and enjoy the surroundings or have a lunch in the nearest bar. Second of all, I do not depend on a schedule like with traveling by bus. So, I can start my trip when and where I want to. In addition to those practical benefits, traveling by car is the fastest way. Another important aspect of this if I am traveling with my friends, we can talk, listen to the radio we like and discuss everything we want. A car can give us privacy. Of cause, I will have to pay for gasoline and traveling by car is not as save as traveling by bicycle or bus but I think it can not change my mind.To sum up, I think that I would choose to travel by car. It is more convenient and offers a great amount of advantages.3 Job and CareerDifference Between Job and CareerWhile both a job and a career involve getting up and going to work in the morning, there is a huge difference in the mindset of a person holding a job and the mindset of a person with a career. The differences don’t necessarily come from salary or benefits. They might not even come from the difficulty of the work. The major difference between a job and a career comes from howyou look at your work and how much you like doing your work.Job ‘“ People with a job may plan to hold it for a fixed amount of time or indefinitely. A job is a means to earn money either for schooling, family, travel, etc. Once the need for that income is eliminated, most people are more than happy to quit their job. They may later take up a new job in a similar or different field.Career ‘“ People view their career as a life-long endeavor. While they might not plan to be at the same company, they hope to do the same type of work until they retire. Many career people continue with their career as a consultant or advisor after they officially retire.Summary:1.A job and a career both involve going to work.2.The mindset of a job holder is focused on security and money while the mindset of a career person is focused on innovation and risk-taking.3.Most people see their job as a means to an end while most people see their career as an end in itself. How to Find a Good JobNowadays, more and more university graduates complain that graduation does not equate to employment. They experience great difficulties finding satisfactory jobs. But the saying goes Everything is difficult to begin. In my opinion, before finding a job, they should do some preparations.First, when they are in school, they should make good use of their time and put their heart into their studies. They can hold part-time jobs in their spare time to get some work experience. Second, They should take part in some social activities and provide themselves with special training so that they are more confident and courageous enough to face fairly good jobs or certain positions require.Do those things above, I believe once they go out of the campus, they won’t feel bewildered. However, that’s not all. To find a good job, a good application letter and a job interview which are also important. On the other hand, they can ask for jobs by E-mail, friends and the other ways. In a word, want to find a good job, they should catch every chance and keep learning. At last but not least, more confident more chances. In a word, The more prepared you are, the more likely you are to start well in your career.4 Interpersonal RelationshipThe Importance of Interpersonal RelationshipWith the development of our society, the connection between people becomes inevitable. People need to communicate with others as long as they are in the world. As a result, the interpersonal relationship becomes more and more important.随着社会的发展,人与人之间的沟通变得不可避免。

Other factors, which are not entirely unrelated to love, include shared values and interests, mutual understanding, commitment, effective communication, similar educational background, equal economic status, physical fitness, etc.. Similar educational background and intelligence levels are also considered important by some people. They believe that only with mutual appreciation and understanding, can the couple get along easily and happily. Why do people get divorced? Can you guess some of the reasons?.Sometimes it is because the couple did not really understand each other before the marriage, as love was blind at that time. After marriage, they see each other's shortcomings more clearly. When disappointment grows beyond control, divorce becomes inevitable..Sometimes it is because one of the couple has changed after the marriage. For example, after the husband is promoted to a leading position, he may have a hectic time all year round, with hardly any time left to be with his wife. Sometimes one of the couple has lost his or her job and becomes irritable. Due to the continual quarrelling at home, the family breaks up. some Western and Chinese holidays or festivals that seem to be similarly important, and explain why they are important. There are a number of Western festivals, such as Christmas, Boxing Day, Thanksgiving Day, New Year's Day, New Year's Eve, Halloween, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and Father's Day. There are also a number of traditional festivals in China, such as the Spring Festival (or the Chinese New Year), the Lantern Festival, the Pure Brightness Festival (or Qingming Festival or the Tomb-Visiting Festival), the Dragon Boat Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Double-Ninth Festival (or the Seniors' Day), etc.Spring Festival—customs. “S weeping the dust” before the Spring Festival means a thorough clean ing of houses to sweep away bad luck in the past year.. Many people like to paste “Spring Couplets” and paper-cuts to give a happy and prosperous atmosphere of the Festival and express the good wishes of Chinese people looking forward to a good life.. On the first day of lunar New Year, people give New Year’s greetings to each other. Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. It is often inaccurately called “Lunar New Year”. Christmas is a traditional festival in western countries. It is a christian holiday that celebrates the birth of jesus Christ every year on dec.25. Families celebrate Spring Festival or Christmas together.8.It is sometimes claimed that many holidays have been created just to encourage people to spend money. Do you agree? It is true that business people are seeking every opportunity to promote sales. So, for holidays, they try to sell cards, flowers and gifts. When people are happy preparing for a festival, they are willing to spend money, and businessmen have taken advantage of their generosity. So, in a sense, many holidays have been commercialized, though we have the right not to buy. But on the other hand, festivals endure mainly because they allow us to express our feelings. When Pilgrims wanted to express their gratitude to "God" for a good harvest, they created Thanksgiving Day. When people wanted to express their affection for their mothers and lovers, they introduced Mother's Day and Valentine's Day. Why or why not?I think it is. In contemporary society, many projects are so large that they require the coordination of a group of people rather than a single person's effort. Therefore, a good team player is often welcomed. Professionally skilled peoplemay not be able to accomplish a large project if they are easily angered and cannot get along with their colleagues. 1. Instructors’ lecture or students’ discussion, which one will you prefer? Why?A: Hello B.B: Hello A.A: A few months ago, we have learned the lesson “College Lectures: Is Anybody Listening?”. So can I ask you a question?B: Yes, of course. What’s the question?A: Instructors’ lecture or students’ discussion, which one will you prefer?B: It is obvious that I will choose the latter, students’ discussion.A: Why, can you give me the reason?B: Well, I really don’t want to go to class to attend lecture, I think it is so boring. You know, every day we go to classroom and sit down, professors can pretend to teach by lecturing just as students can pretend to learn by attending lectures.A: Yes, what you say is really true. In the discussion, we are the leading role, and with strong initiative. But I think both of them are necessary. Because if we have never touched one topic, how can we discuss with others? In that situation we need instructor’s lecture.B: Ok, I agree with you. Let us go to have a discussion.A: Yeah, that must be funny!B: Yes, I hope so!2. Nowadays we can see the economy grow very fast but our environment has already been polluted seriously, sometimes we need to think how to change this situation. We also advocate others to do this.B: So it is. Thank you very much.B: You are welcome.4. But I mean that the government should do the major job. The first is to make laws to protect endangered species. The other useful measure is to create protective areas which will create a safe environment for animals to live in.A: Yes, lots of species are disappearing. So our society, organization, individuals and the government need take part in the activity.B: So what about our students, which things can we do?A: We student can propagate those ideas about the importance of protecting endangered species. To protect the species is to protect the nature; and to protect the nature is to protect the human being. We can’t live a wonderful life without a good environment.B: Oh yes, if all of us can do a little for protecting endangered species, the situation will be better in the future.A: Well, so it is, and your analysis is very wonderful. And as to a woman, she can pay more time to parenting when you have a baby. So there is no doubt that she will take the responsibility to raise her child.B: And what marriage behavior do you advocate?A: I think young people should grow up with the expectation that they will marry only once and for a lifetime and that they will have children. I think this is the best age of marriage.A: Yes, if you have a baby, do you think children are central to a couple’s marriage and family life?B: Form my viewpoint, I more hope to have a baby. Children can make our happy marriage life. In order to cultivate excellent children, parents should take their marriage as the center, rather than have children around all day.A: Yes, that’s true.B: But so many young people today choose to have no children. What do you think the reasons of this phenomenon?A: I think they worry about that children will become the burden of their lives. Rather than, I like the teachers better who have interesting and inspirational courses, just like our English teacher !A: Yes, first impression is very important and most of us have it.
