阅读理解练习1：熬住就是一切

① 我们经常用竞技来比喻人生。在漫长的人生竞技中，什么都不是一眼看得到头的。一时的春风得意算不了什么，一时的失败其实也不能算数。林彪与越南的国防部长武元甲会见时。他告诉武元甲，与美国对抗只有一个字：熬。这一个字的确道出了人生的一种真谛，美国那么强大，和它对抗当然不容易，但因为“熬”住了，最后越南还是赢了美国。但真正熬得住又谈何容易。林彪自己经过了“熬”，成了接班人，最后却到底没“熬”住，闹到“抢班夺权”，遂有温都尔汗的一劫。

②“熬”住其实非常重要。人生中进进退退是寻常事，关键是能够“熬”得住。所谓“熬”就是对于自己的事情不轻易放弃，不随便离开自己的位置，就在那里一步一步地努力，有时候就好像龟兔赛跑的那只乌龟，未必跑得快，但“熬”得住，却能笑在最后。

③ 这样的例子太多太多。曾经看在大阪举行乒乓球世界锦标赛的电视转播，看到中国的刘国正和韩国金泽洙在男子团体赛上异常激烈的比赛，刘国正几乎老是要输，但居然能够九死一生地“熬”下来，也笑到了最后。当然这仅仅是一场比赛，但他旁边的教练蔡振华的经历就更加让我感慨。当年我还是学生的时候，蔡振华就是乒乓球运动员，以旋转球拍著名，他能够将球拍在手中飞速旋转，使对方无法知道他两面不同的胶皮，接不住他的球。但那时我们都是另外一位名将郭跃华的球迷。当时蔡振华多是赢不了郭跃华的，后来国际乒联又限制了旋转球拍，蔡振华便黯然退役。那时，郭跃华的辉煌和蔡振华的黯淡恰成对比。郭退役后开始从商，渐渐淡出了体育界，而蔡振华始终在这一行里“熬”着，直到成了国家体育总局的副局长。

④ 文人的生涯“熬”也不可或缺。我曾经听到一位知名的老学者讲笑话，说他大学时同屋的三个人中，另外两个都才气逼人，他觉得远远在他之上，不过，天妒英才，一个在大学时因失恋自杀，才华还没有表现就死了。另外一个在五十岁就病故了，才华同样没有得到充分发挥。而他却身体健康，活到高寿。老先生说：现在几乎没有自己的同代人了，学生或者晚辈自然都捧场。于是乎水涨船高，就是泰斗了。老先生当然是说笑话，但仔细想想也非常有道理。
