T: I will greet the class as usual .Then, I will take a note of one hundred yuan to arise students' learning interest and ask them what it is, and the student will say“money”. After that, I‟ll show pictures of two millionaires: LiJiacheng and Bill Gates. Let students guess who they are? Then ask students to answer the following questions. Do you want to be a millionaire? Why or why not? Before answering the questions, to make students take active part in the activity, I‟ll divide the whole class into six groups. Meanwhile, a column is made to do the assessment .A star will be given to each good performance. Then give students 4 minutes to exchange their ideas with their partners. And ask some volunteers to present their opinions .After that, students will form differentviewpoints about money. (T: According to students‟ viewpoints, we can find that different country and different people hold different views about money. Some of them think that money is the most important thing, while the others have the opposite view.) In this part, I…ll join the students in discussing the answers with them. Next we will learn the textStep 2: ListeningLet students listen to the tape, and they will know why there are such people who don‟t want to be a millionaire.Step 3: Reading. There are two tasks in this stepTask1: Fast reading: In this part, Ss are asked to read the text as quickly as possible and then find the answers to the following questions. After this task ,students will generally understand the text . There are five questions in this part .They are:1.Who is Charles?2.What Charles did 16 years ago?3.What were Charles living conditions at that time and w hat are Charles‟ living conditions now?4.Is Charles happy now?5.Does Charles want to go back to being rich? Why?Ask students to check the answers. The groups which answer the questions well will get stars for correct answers to the questions.Task2: Careful reading. This task is designed to make students to find out some specific facts and use them to do some exercises. Give students 15 minutes to finish this task. After these two parts, students will understand the text better and master some phrases. there are two kinds of exercises in this task.
