47.范文:

DearProfessorWilliams,

I am very much honored to receive your letter of invitation, asking me to give a lecture about the Chinese culture to international students in your university. I accept the invitation with gratitude. Now, I have already come up with some major points that I plan to cover in my presentation. First,I will talk about what is Chinese culture . Second, the lecture will focus on the significant differences between the Chinese culture and the western culture. Last but not least, I will demonstrate with specific examples how to appreciate the value of the Chinese culture in the world Today.

I believe that this short lecture will give the foreign students some brief ideas about

the Chinese culture. If you have some suggestions, please feel free to let me know.

I am looking forward to your response.

48.范文:

The Boom of Museum Visiting

As the graph indicates, the numbers of both museums and museum visitors have

been on a steady rise in our country over the past few years. For example, the number

of museum visitors increased from 0.6378 billion in 2013 to 0.6378 billion in 2015.

At the same time, the number of museums increased from 4165 in 2013 to 4692 in 2015.

This uprising trend is not surprising if we take the following factors into consideration. In the first place, thank to the fast economic boom of our country over the years, increasing numbers of Chinese people can financially afford to pursue their spiritual needs. Secondly, as our country grows more powerful, the government becomes acutely aware of the importance of preserving our national culture. So more

museums have been built to meet this strategic need. Last but not least, from most people’s traveling experience, visiting museums is both entertaining and

educational.

Of course, this phenomenon, as a strong sign of our social progress, is a good thing. In the years to come, I have good reason to believe that visiting museums will become more popular with ordinary people. This will help improve our national pride,

and make more people, both Chinese and foreigners, develop a better understanding of our country. Both these will play an important role in spreading the Chinese influence in the world today.

(40 points) Text 1 答案 21.A gained great popularity 22.B promote sport participation 23.C does not emphasize elitism 24.D invest in public sports facilities Text 2 With so much focus on children use of screens, it is easy for parents to forget about their own screen use. “tech is designed to really suck you in ,”says jenny pedesky in her study of diital play, “and digital products are there to promote maximal engagement . it makes it hard to disengage, and leads to a lot of bleed-over into the family routine.” Pedesky has studied the use of mobile phone and tablets at mealtimes by giving mother-child pairs a food-testing exercise. She found that mothers who used devices during the exercise stared 20 percent fewer verbal and 39 percent fewer bnonverbal interaction with their children. During a separate observation she saw that phones became a source of tension in the family. Parents would be looking at their emails while the children would be making excited bids for their attention. Infants are wired to look at parents faces try to understand their world, and if those faces are blank and unresponsive-as they often are when absorbed in a device-it can be extremely disconcerting for the children. Padesky cites the “still face experiment” devised by developmental psychologist. Ed tronick in the 1970s. in it, a mother is asked to interact with her child in a normal way before putting on a blank expression and not giving them any visual social feedback: the child becomes increasingly distressed as she tries to capture her mother’s attention. “parents don’t have to be exquisitely present at all times, but there needs to be a balance and parents need to be responsive and sensitive to be a child’s verbal or nonverbal expressions of an emotional need,” says radesky.

Can privacy be preserved 2 bringing safety and security to a world that seems increasingly 3 ? Last month,Howard Schmidt, the nation‘s cyber-czar,offered the federal government a 4 to make the Web a safer place-a “voluntary trusted identity”system that would be the high-tech 5 of a physical key,a fingerprint and a photo ID card, all rolled 6 one. The system might use a smart identity card,or a digital credential 7 to a specific computer .and would authenticate users at a range of online services. The idea is to 8 a federation of private online identity systems. User could 9 which system to join, and only registered users whose identities have been authenticated could navigate those systems. The approach contrasts with one that would require an Internet driver‘s license 10 by the government. Google and Microsoft are among companies that already have these“single sign-on”systems that make it possible for users to 11 just once but use many different services. 12 .the approach would create a “walled garden”n cyberspace, with safe “neighborhoods”and bright “streetlights”to establish a sense of a 13 community. Mr. Schmidt described it as a “voluntary ecosystem”in which “individuals and organizations can complete online transactions with 14 ,trusting the identities of each other and the identities of the infrastructure 15 which the transaction runs”。 Still, the administration‘s plan has 16 privacy rights activists. Some applaud the approach; others are concerned. It seems clear that such a scheme is an initiative push toward what would 17 be a compulsory Internet “drive’s license”mentality. The plan has also been greeted with 18 by some computer security experts, who worry that the “voluntary ecosystem”envisioned by Mr. Schmidt would still leave much of the Internet 19 .They argue that all Internet users should be 20 to register and identify themselves,in the same way that drivers must be licensed to drive on public roads.
