一、Teaching aims (教学目标)
1. 学会使用can的基本用法。
2. 能够使用can进行提问及回答。
3. 能够使用can谈论某人的能力。
4. 能够根据自己的能力选择适合自己的俱乐部。
二、Language points (语言点)
1. 词汇: guitar, swim, dance, chess, club ,sing, swim, dance, draw, speak, join, play chess, speak English
2. 句型:Can you …? Yes, I can. /No, I can’t.
I want to join the ... club.
三、Importance and difficulties (教学重难点)
1. 区别play chess 和play the guitar 中the 的用法。
2. 情态动词can的基本用法,即无人称和数的变化。

Teaching steps (教学步骤)
1. Warm-up and revision(课堂热身和复习)
(1)Daily greetings to the Ss.
(2 ) Play a guessing game. Show Ss a picture(basketball) and ask what it is.
T:What`s this?
S: It`s a basketball. Can you play basketball?
【教学设计说明】本课时主要学习can的用法,因此采取学过的篮球图片导入,使学生更加直观的了解本课内容,过渡简单自然。
本课的新单词也用这个方式自然引出
2. Presentation (呈现新知识)
Show Ss the pictures and help Ss to understand the new words. Help them to say what the person is doing in the picture. Ask Ss to read the new words, and make sure that everyone can understand the meanings and read them correctly. Then use the new words to ask Ss questions.
T: What`s this?
S: It`s a guitar.
T:Can you play the guitar?
S:Yes,I can./ No I can’t.
T: Can you dance/swim/sing/draw/play chess/speak English?
S: Yes, I can./No I can’t.
【教学设计说明】图片教学法是呈现新知识最简单有效的方法之一,学生通过图片,能更价值观的理解新单词的含义。
此环节重点在新单词及词组的意思和发音上,所以要尽量让更多的学生张口说,必要的机械操练是必不可少的。
3. Practice (练习)
Show the pictures as quickly as possible. Let Ss say the new words. Then use the new words to make small conversations.
T: Let’s play a game. Please say the new words as quickly as you can. Then make a conversation using the words, like this:
A: Can you swim?
B: Yes, I can. /No, I can’t.
【教学设计说明】此环节为机械操练,使不同层次学生初步掌握目标语言。
机械操练是英语初始阶段教学必不可缺的部分,学生要先从模仿到初步掌握,最后才能熟练应用。
机械操练时应注意着重提问成绩较差的学生,由于机械操练比较简单,因此是激发后进生兴趣,培养后进生自信的一个很好的途径。

T:Can he/she/they swim/dance...?
S:Yes, he/she/they can./No, he/she/they can`t.
5. Work on 1a (完成1a)
(1) Match the activities with the people in the picture.
(2) Talk about the picture with Ss using the target language.
T: Can “a” speak English? S: Yes, she can.
【教学设计说明】通过1a的练习,使学生进一步学会运用新单词。
和学生一起谈论图片,目的在于引导学生学会使用can的基本句型。
6. Work on 1b (完成1b)
(1)Listen and number the conversations.
(2) Recite the conversations.
【教学设计说明】此环节着重是听力训练。
让学生在听对话的过程中抓住关键词汇,由于前面已做了一些训练,因此学生听起来比较容易,让他们都有一次成功的喜悦和感受,这样可以增强他们的学习自信心。

What can your friend/ classmate do? Make a survey with"Can you/he/she ...?","Yes,I/he/she can; No, I/he/she can`t." and fill the chart. Then ask a student to retell the reasult of each group (For example :Li Ming can play the guitar ,but he can`t sing....)
