Abstract A strain of Streptomyces corchorusii(NF0919)antagonistic to Rhizoctonia s0lani Ktlhn was isolated.which produced alkyl glyeoside with high antifungal activity.To investigate the antifungal activity of Streptomyces corchorusii strain NH)919.the treatments amended with the non.sterilized supernatant resulted in the highest growth inhibition rate of about 10o%at a concentration of 20%.rnle antifungal compound。which inhibited the growth of Rhizoctonia solani Kahn.was ex- traeted by EtOAC and purified by silica gel,Sephadex IJH-20 column,and HPLC,where an active fraction was confirmed bv I .MS and NMR techniques.These results suggested that NH)919 had a k potential in tlle biocontrol of Rhizoctonia solan Kfihn。which was mainly due to surface active agent APG. China was the first country in the world to plant rice as one of the most important commercial crops.However.rice production 

faces growing threats from many diferent diseases such as Rhizoc- tonia solanf Ktihnand….Xanthorno//o ̄oryzae pv.Oryzae L 一 and 

Fusarium fujikuroi .Rhizoctonia solan Ktihnand has become the 

most economically significant disease in rice and the major concem 

of rice growers in China .which is responsible for damages not 

only to leaves but also to the growing stages of mature plants and seeds of rice.resulting in over 50%yield loss on average【o J.It is 

known to arise under high temperature and humidity which spreads 

easily through irrigation water and by the movement of soil and in— 

fected crop residues during land preparation. Chemical fungicides have been used extensively for the con— 

trol of Rhizoctonia solani Kahnand worldwide.However。the ex- 

cessive use of chemical fungicides has caused environmental pollu— 

don and incrementally resistant strains.Thus,some researchers 

have focused on biological control of plant diseases through antago 

nistic microorganisms.Currently,biological pesticides are greatly 

considered as alternatives of chemical fungicides L . 

The aDplication of streptomyces in the biological control of phytopathogenie fungi is well documented[ 一 .Lee et a1.[ 。]used 

Streptomyces cavourensis SY224 in biocontrol of anthracnose in pepper.The hiocontrol potential of various streptomycetes is main. 1y resulted from the produetion of antibiotics【”一 . Many years of researches showed that fermentation and meta. belie products of Streptomyces corchorusii strain NF0919 that waft

ences had very good prevention and controlling effects on a variety of pathogenic bacteria in crops .In this study,an active ingre— 

dient from the fermentation broth of Streptomyces comhorusii strain 

NF0919 against Rhizoctonia solani Kahn were analyzed.which could be used in further biocontrol researches.

Strains and culture conditiOils Streptomyces corchorusii strain NH)919 and Rhizoctonia solani 

Kiihn were used in this study.Streptomyces corchorusi strain 

NFD919 preserved in a refrigerator was activated for 10 d on 

Gause’s No.1 medium at 30℃.After 40 h of culture at 30 cI=on 

a rotary shaker at 180 r/min,a small grain of rice was picked out 

and transplanted to the surface of culture medium with seed.Sub— 

sequently.10%of the liquid culture was transferred into the fer- mentation medium:the fermentation liquor was cultured for7 d at 30 oC on a rotary shaker at 180 r/min.
