This study, therefore, set out to focus on the good distnce lnguge lerner, investigting 10 successful nd 10 unsuccessful distnce English lerners in Chin with the im of constructing ‘lerning strtegy’profile of the successful distnce lerner. Using the reserch instrument of semi-structured interview, this study investigted the difference in lerning strtegies between successful nd unsuccessful distnce Englishlerners in terms of vocbulry, grmmr nd pronuncition, the skills of listening, speking, reding nd writing, metcognitive skills s well s socil skills. Findings indicte tht the lerning strtegies dopted by successful lerners embodied more rtionl fetures in comprison with those used by unsuccessful lerners, hence ble to better compenste for lck of prctice in the process of distnce English lerning.
