并列连词
一、定义：
并列连词用来连接并列的单词、短语或句子,可以表示并列关系、转折关系或因果关系。
二、并列连词的内容：
在本单元我们主要学习并列连词and .but、or、so .both... and..., not only ..but
( also) ... ,either... or..以及neither..no...的用法。
1、并列连词and
(1)and可以表示“和,又”，表达并列关系。
e.g. She is a good student and a patient monitor.
2、并列连词but
(1)but可表示“但是”,表达转折关系,所连接的成分通常含有相反或相对的含义。
e.g. His mother won't go there , but his father might.他母亲不会去那里,但他父亲也许会去。
(2) but还可表示“而是”,常用于not...but...结构,表示“不是...而是.... ,该结构作主语时,谓语动词要与离它较近的主语在人称和数上保持致。
e.g. Not you but I am the leader.领导者不是你，而是我。
3、并列连词or
(1)or可用于引出另一种可能性,表示选择关系,意为“或者”。
e.g. What would you like , bananas or oranges? 你想吃什么,香蕉还是橙子?
(2)在否定句中,要用or来连接并列成分，而不用and。 e.g. I won't spend my holiday in Beijing or Shanghai.我不会在北京和上海度过我的假期。
(3)or还可表示“否则”,相当于or else ,用于警告或忠告。
e.g. Gel up,or you'll be late for school.起床吧,否则你上学会迟到的。
4、并列连词so
小贴士：
并列连 词so与从属连词because(因为)不能一起使用。
so意为“因此,所以”,表达因果关系,常用来连接两个简单句。
e.g. There were no buses , so 1 came by bicycle. 没有公共汽车，所以我就骑自行车来了。
5、bot...and...not only...but ( also) ...either...or...和neither..nor.
这几个连词词组可以用来连接两个并列的主语谓语、宾语、表语、状语等,其用法如下:
①both...and... 意为.........两者都;既.....又.....表达并列关系,连接的两个成分在句中作主语时,谓语动词总是用复数形式。
e.g.Both he and she are from Canada. 他和她都来自加拿大。
②not only ...but also... 意为“不但....而且...不仅....还其中also可以省略，若连接两个单词或词组，则词性须一致。
e.g. We should practise English not only in class but ( also) at home.
我们应该不仅仅在课堂上练习英语,在家里也要练习。
③either..or.. 意为“要么...要么...或者....或者,不是....就是....用于连接两个表示选择关系的词。
e.g.You can have either tea or coffee. 你喝茶也行,喝咖啡也行。
④neither...nor...意为“既不........ ,表示全部否定句中不能再出现否定词。
e.g. He neither knows nor cares what happened.他对所发生的事不闻不问。
注意:
(1) both...and...,not only...but ( also) ...,及either...or...通常用于表达肯定含义，表达否定含义时，可以用neither...nor...
(2) not only...but ( also) ... either....及neither..nor...连接两个主语时，谓语动词应与离它更近的一个主语在人称和数上保持一致，这就是我们通常说的“就近原则”。
e.g. Not only the teacher but ( also) the students were against the plan.
不仅老师还有学生们都反对这个计划。
e.g.Either you or John is wrong.要么是你错了，要么是约翰错了。
Neither my parents nor my sister likes living here.我父母和我妹妹都不喜欢住在这里。
(3)当not only...but also...连接两个分句,并且not only位于句首时:第一个分句中的主语和谓语要部分倒装。
e.g .Not only does the sun give us light but also it gives us heat.太阳不仅给我们光，而且给我们热。
