HRTF Theory
• HRTF = Head Related Transfer Function • The pinna (outer portion of ear) allows us to determine directionality by controlling the frequency response of the human hearing system • SRS (Sound Retrieval System) developed based on HRTF. No manipulation of signal through time delay or phase shift.

SRS Technology
• SRS = Sound Retrieval System • Based on characteristics of human hearing system and HRTF Theory • Restores spatial cues lost in the recording/playback process by compensating for the difference between microphones and the human hearing system
TruBass Technology
• Latest bass enhancement technology from SRS Labs, Inc. • Actively monitors the low-frequency content of an audio signal and optimizes the frequency and amplitude spectrum of the output signal to enhance bass perception • Provides deep, rich bass to small speaker systems without the need for a subwoofer or additional extra physical components

SRS vs. Traditional Stereo
Drawbacks of Traditional Stereo • Limited ‘sweet spot’ • Weak spatial perception • Requires professional speaker positioning • Easily affected by listening environment • Requires high quality audio system and sources
Other Benefits
• Compatible with any audio signal (mono, stereo, surround sound) • Requires no encoding, decoding or special hardware (includes Dolby Pro Logic audio source) • Eliminates speakers as point sources • Stable sound field, not easily upset by listener’s movement
Benefits
Adjustable sound image height, works excellent with the following two environments: (1) Car Audio
Benefits
Besides Car Audio, FOCUS also works excellent with: (2) Home Theater

TruSurround Technology
• Processes multi-channel audio source into just two channels; creates 360 degrees surround sound effect with only two speakers • Established standard for virtual surround sound • Contains Passive Matrix multichannel decoding circuit • Includes SRS technology, suitable for standard stereo audio sources • Reproduces stereo sound from mono audio source
SRS HEADPHONE Technology
• Natural 3D sound image from any pair of headphones • Based on SRS technology • Supports stereo or surround sound (includes encoded audio signal) • Solved sound image limitation of headphones
Benefits
• Broad sweet spot • Creates the sensation of being surrounded by multiple speakers • Eliminates consumer need for full 6 speakers home theater set-up • Supports Dolby Pro Logic, Dolby Digital (AC-3), DTS, THX and any multi-channel audio source • Quickly become a de facto standard in home theater and is strongly supported and licensed by leading DVD, set-top box, A/V receiver and television manufacturers worldwide

Company Overview
1993 1996 SRS Labs, Inc. founded Publicly traded on NASDAQ, world leader in audio enhancement technologies Chairman and CEO: Thomas C.K.Yuen, cofounder of AST Research SRS Technology Inventor: Arnold Klayman Expansion in Asia Pacific Region, Hong Kong Branch established SRS Labs’ Technologies included in over 40 million products worldwide and supported by over 170 industry OEMs
SRS vs. Traditional Stereo
Benefits of SRS • Broad ‘sweet spot’ • 3-dimensional effect over 180 degrees • Natural and coherent surround effect • Not easily affected by listening environment • No disadvantages of signal processing through time delay or phase shift
Additional – 3D MONO
• Reproduce mono sound to stereo sound • Being processed by SRS, mono sound become 3dimensional sound field • Suitable for VCD, DVD, SVCD, cassette tape, VCRs, mono program broadcasted by TV and Radio
