Yes, a rainbow usually has seven different colors. One British photographer named Melvin Nicholson used to think so, too, but he changed his mind after seeing a white “rainbow”. One morning, Nicholson was out with a friend in Rannoch Moor in Scotland. The friend said he knew there was a beautiful tree and wanted to show it to Nicholson. As they went near the tree in the fog, the sun started to rise behind them. It burned off the fog and suddenly they saw the white rainbow — a fogbow. It didn’t last long, but Nicholson took photos of it. “I have never seen anything special like that in my life. I believe I will remember it for a long time,” said Nicholson. Scientists say a fogbow is a kind of weather phenomenon similar to a rainbow. The water droplets in the fog are very small.
