T: I think you have known how to use the –ing as the subject or the object. Now,
let’s come to know more about it.
The teacher shows the following on the screen.
Ⅰ. 动名词做主语:
1.表示习惯性经常性的动作或者状态,谓语动词要用单数。
2. it 作形式主语,动词的-ing放在后面:
3. There be + no doing 结构中做主语,列举固定结构:
Ⅱ. 动名词做宾语:
1.可接动名词作宾语的动词:
admit,appreciate, avoid, can’t stand, can’t help, consider, delay, deny, dislike,
enjoy, escape, excuse, fancy, finish, forgive, give up, imagine, keep, mention,
mind, miss, practise, prevent, put off, resist, risk, suggest
2.可接动名词作宾语的短语
instead of, devote…to, feel like, get down to, insist on, keep on, look forward to,
object to, pay attention to, set about, stick to
3.又能接动名词又能接动词不定式的词
意义区别不大:begin, continue, love, like, hate, prefer, intend, start
意义区别较大:forget,go on, mean, regret, remember, stop, try, be used to
4. 动词need,require, want, deserve意为“需要”时,后跟动名词的主动或
者不定式的被动式 。
