1 Undergraduate Specialized Educational Program for Tourism Management
Ⅰ.Schooling length: four years
Ⅱ. Degrees granted: Management Bachelor
Ⅲ. Educational objectives
This program aims to train practice-oriented and inter-disciplinary operation and management talents for China's
tourism, particularly for ethnic regions. After 4-year training, the graduates are required to achieve all round
development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics education, to be familiar with the main ethnic theories and
policies in China, to know well the principles and policies of and to meet the needs of China’s tourism
development. They are also supposed to have the capability in innovation, operation, collaboration, and
self-development by the building of rational knowledge structure and relatively high comprehensive quality based
on the study of basic knowledge and skills in tourism, economics, management, geography, history, culture, law,
and the like.
Ⅳ. Fundamental requirements
1. To adhere the Four Cardinal Principles and policies of the Party;
2. To be familiar with the basic knowledge and theory of business management as well as tourism management;
3. To get the training of basic professional practice skills needed in tourism management;
4. To have the basic and practical capability of using the mathematical analysis methodologies and other modern
technologies to investigate, analyzes, and solve tourism issues;
5. To pass the required student health standard test.
Ⅴ. Specific knowledge and capability requirements
The tourism major graduates are supposed to have the following knowledge and capabilities:
1. To have good personality, to be familiar with the Party's principles and policies, and to know the general
conditions of China;
2. To master the basic knowledge of tourism and other relevant disciplines;
3. To master the qualitative and quantitative analysis methodologies in tourism management.
4. To have the capability of making inter-personal communication and solving practical issues;
5. To be familiar with the main tourism policies, laws, and regulations of China;
6. To be innovative and know the frontier theories and the development trend of tourism;
7. To master one to two foreign languages and have the ability to conduct foreign exchange;
8. To be capable of conducting scientific research and self-development.

Introduction, Travel Agency Business and Management, Principle of Hotel Management, Operation and
Management of Scenic Area, Tourism Investigation Methodology, Tourism Resource Planning and Development,
Tourism Economics, Tourism Enterprise Human Resource Management, Tourism Enterprise Financial
Management, Tourism Enterprise Strategic Management, Exhibition and Business Travel.
