TEACHER: Hello, everyone! What soap operas did you see last night? What happened in it?
TEACHER: Do you still remember what happened in the soap opera“Young Lives”? Let’s review
together.
(Show the texts on the screen one sentence by one sentence, students read together.)
TEACHER: All right, you read very well. Now, who can retell the story that happened in Young
Lives by changing direct speech into reported speech.
(One student retells in reported speech.)
TEACHER: Good job! Everyone, let’s retell it together.

TEACHER: It was an exciting week for people in the soap opera “Young Lives”, what about you ,
do you like exciting life?
S: Yes!
TEACHER: Well, I prepare an interesting game for you, hope you can enjoy yourselves. The
name of the game is “tell me what he/she said”
(Teacher explains the game, and ask several groups to play it, let students practice retelling what
other people say in a fun way, attracts their attention to the class and also leads to the next step.)

Make dialogues around the topic of report card and pay attention to direct speech and
reported speech.

S1: I’m hard-working.
S2: I’m a lazy student.
S3: I’m good at math, I’m clever.
TEACHER: S3, you said you were clever, let’s ask your deskmate if he agrees with you. S4 ?

dialogue as in 1b and and dubbing for the animation with your dialogues.
