According to “Evening Peak News” of V oice of China, Chine se netizens (网民) have summed up top 10 network buzzword (网络用语) of 2014. Here are some of them.

1.Rich and Bitch(任性)

Have you noticed that so many people claimed themselves “rich and bitch” in friends circle and Weibo. The buzzword originates from a real event: In April, Mr. Liu spent 1760 yuan online buying a health care product. Soon after, he got calls from a stranger who persuaded him to buy other matched medicines. In the following four months, Mr. Liu sent a total of 540,000 yuan to the swindler(骗子). This is another joke in which unsightly(难看的) things are intended to be good-looking. The buzzword comes from a sentence of Jolin’s song “Prague Square”(布拉格广场), which was extended to describe strange thing. For example, when you see a very shocking picture, you can use this sentence to express the visual or psychological impact.

3.It is to be cherished (珍惜)

On March 31, 2014, Ma Yili responded to Wen Zhang’s cheating on Sina Weibo. It reads as follows: “Being in love is easy, being married is not. It is to be cherished.” Soon many Internet users began to make sentences with this pattern. For example, “Eating is easy, losing weight is not. It is to be cherished.”

Robert and Peter study in the same university. They do everything together and help each other. But they often play jokes on each other.

The school year was over last month and they decided to travel through the country in America. They drove a car and could stop wherever they were interested in and started whenever they wanted.
