How to Comfort Others in English
Hi friends! Today I want to talk about how we can comfort
our friends and family when they are feeling sad or upset - but in
English! Using English to cheer people up is super important,
because English is the world's language and being kind in
English can help make the whole world a happier place.
The first step is to ask how your friend is feeling. You can say
"How are you feeling today?" or "You don't seem like your usual
happy self, is everything okay?" Using these caring questions
shows your friend that you notice their emotions and you want
to understand what's going on.
Once your friend explains what's bothering them, it's time to
validate their feelings. You never want to say "Don't feel that
way" or "It's not a big deal" because that makes their emotions
