We are very pleased that you have chosen to spend your period of study abroad at Anglia Ruskin

University and we hope that you will have a rewarding and enjoyable experience here.

you will continue to be successful in your new environment and that you will adjust rapidly to your

2006年优秀学生赴新西兰/澳大利亚暑期夏令营活动方案

为加强我校对外文化交流，拓展学生视野，今年我校将组织两个代表团分别赴新西兰奥克兰马努卡理工学院、澳大利亚詹姆斯库克大学参加夏令营活动。

一． 活动宗旨

通过组织优秀学生赴新西兰奥克兰马努卡理工学院/澳大利亚詹姆斯库克大学交流、学习，不仅为我校优秀学生学习英语提供一次良好的学习机会，更是运用多种直观的教学手段，组织内容丰富的学习、交流活动，形式多样的参观、旅游活动，使他们在较短的时间能多方面了解感受新西兰/澳大利亚民族文化，传播中国传统文化。

二． 活动内容

1．参加住宿家庭，体验新西兰/澳大利亚人民日常生活。

2．参加英语与新西兰/澳大利亚民族文化学习。

3．参加马努卡理工学院/詹姆斯库克大学学生的体育文化活动，与该学院学生进行文化交流。

4．游览名胜古迹。

三． 名额分配

本次夏令营每个团选拔学生15名，其中商学院、外语学院、文化与传播学院各两名，校学生会、校学生社团理事会、法学院、外语学院、设计艺术与建筑学院、生物与环境学院、电子信息学院、计算机与信息学院、基础学院各一名。

四.选拔条件

1、在校期间表现良好，无不良行为记录。

2、英语口语良好，能流利进行日常口语交流。

3、专业学习成绩优秀，本学年平均学分绩点3。0以上。

4、积极参加素质拓展活动，本学年素质拓展学分绩点3。0以上。

5、有文艺、体育等特长，担任主要学生干部者优先。

五. 选拔程序

经学生本人申请，各相关单位、组织根据学生实际情况公开选拔，经学生事务与发展中心审核，报学校批准。

鉴于时间较为紧张，请各学院于6月23日前将初步名单上报学生事务与发展中心。

去英国读书的新生，一定要尽快的适应自己的生活，这样才可以保证自己的留学可以比较顺利的进行。今天就为大家带来2021英国留学新生指导手册。

1.扎进新生堆里面去

听着，让我们早点开始这个问题，它会发生的，你不妨主动的去接受它。

2.重新布置你的新卧室

花太多的时间去思考哪些海报应该贴在墙上，哪些书应该放在书架上，以便向来访的人传达正确的信息，告诉他们你是谁。

3.和尽可能多的人见面，得到他们的电话号码

在一年结束的时候，回过头来看看你的手机，比可能会想知道到底谁是Karim Uni和Lizzie Freshers。

4.参加新生招聘会，接受每一份传单

现在是尝试新事物的时候了，把你能拿的东西都拿出来，过一会儿再把这堆东西筛一遍。你要保持开放的心态。另外，如果你花时间从头到尾游览一遍的话，通常会有很多折扣和免费赠品。

5.把你的名字写在你能拿到的每一张社团登记表上

同上。以后你可以取消订阅，如果你真的不想把你的电子邮件地址写下来，你可以使用你新的电子邮件地址。但要注意，他们可能不会在你的身边待太久，因为他们已经被《指环王》社交网站上的电子邮件狂轰滥炸了。

6.至少参加一个你报名参加的俱乐部或社团

社团都是开放的。不管是维京人社团、针织俱乐部、极限飞盘、世界在你的掌握之中。你永远不知道你会遇见谁，也不知道你会发掘出什么样的才能。

7.花一整天的时间设计和制作一套非常棒的奇装异服

在学生会里过夜，你可能会经历被打翻的饮料和偷你帽子/尾巴/太阳镜的人。 8.尝试做一个预算

在你第一天晚上外出后的第二天早上查看完你的银行账户后，坐下来看看Excel电子表格，计划一下未来的花销可能是明智的。你可能第一次做错了，但是预算是一门艺术，不能操之过急。你会到达那里。

9.从新生人潮中恢复过来

感觉这种热潮会永远持续下去，但相信我，不会的。顶多只有三天的时间。

This period is called a gap year and is a time when British students can broaden their horizons by visiting foreign countries. Tens of thousands of gap year travellers leave Britain every year, with Australia as the most popular destination. While some volunteer for charity work in developing countries, others will enjoy eco-tourism or simply backpack through many countries. Many other gap year travellers try their hand at teaching English to the locals in the countries they visit. Students who take a gap year often say the experience helps them get a better perspective on the world and broadens their cultural awareness. An important part of any gap year is learning about the culture and society of other peoples. It can be very important to learn about local norms in order to avoid a culture clash, such as when Westerners wear clothes that are seen as unacceptable in more conservative countries. Developments in communications technology mean it is easier than ever to keep in touch with friends and family at home. Many gap year students maintain a travel blog or upload their snaps to photo-sharing websites so that others can see their adventures. China is becoming an increasingly popular destination for British students. Gap year programmes in China might include coaching sports in Chinese schools, learning kung fu or even teaching English. Who knows? Perhaps you’ll meet some British gap year travellers in your home town soon. Don’t forget to practice your English with them!
