Lesson 15 Making a Difference
一、教材分析
本单元主要围绕“校园生活”这一话题展开学习。第15课主要介绍了一个希望中学的孩子的校园生活,与前一课中加拿大学生Jenny的校园生活进行对比,本课的校园生活有很大的反差。校园生活是学生熟悉的内容且丰富多彩,学生易于接受,为此,在学习课文内容的基础上,还应该引导学生学会珍惜当下的幸福生活,热爱学习,乐观向上。
二、学情分析
根据七年级学生已有的知识储备,生活经验和认知水平,再加上他们对英语有着强烈的求知欲和好奇心,以及他们在活动中乐于自我表现的特点,本人设计了一系列的课堂教学活动,进而激发和培养学生的学习兴趣,鼓励学生大胆实践,勇于探索。
三、教学目标
1)采用拼读与单词接龙的方法熟练掌握 difference,village,drop,possible,never,future等词汇,并能正确运用make a difference to,drop out of school,give up 等短语。
2)采用阅读与诵读的方法完全理解课文含义,并能用课文中所学词汇介绍一个对社会或者对自己有深远影响的人。
3)通过思考与讨论体会课文寓意,懂得珍惜生活,热爱学习,乐观向上。

【原句再现】 Last year, I wanted to give up my studies.
【解析】 句式give up意为“放弃”,后加名词、代词、动名词作宾语。如:
She gave up her factory last year.
去年她放弃了她的工厂。
Why did you give up learning English? 2 你为什么要放弃学英语?
give up是“动词 + 副词”短语,这类短语用名词作宾语时,名词可用在副词前,也可用在副词后;但用代词作宾语时,代词必须用在副词前。
This problem is too hard. I want to give it up.
