今天我说课的内容是人教版高中英语必修一Unit5 的第一课时Nelson Mandela Warming
up & speaking部分。以下我将从说教材，说学情，说教法学法，说教学过程，说板书设计等五个阶段来完成我今天的说课。
（一）说教材
（1）教材的地位和作用：本课节选自普通高中课程标准实验教材必修一第五单元的内容。本文主要讲的是当代伟人曼德拉的故事。而学生作为英语语言的学习者，有必要较为深刻地了解英语语言的一些文化信息，减少学生在今后英语学习中的一些文化障碍，所以说本课在书中有着非常重要的作用。
（2）教学目标：根据对教材的理解和内容的分析，我将从三个方面来说明教学目标：知识，技能和情感三个方面。
1) 就知识目标而言：使学生熟悉本课的一些重点单词和句型。
2）对于技能目标，主要培养学生的阅读能力。
3) 就情感目标而言：激发学生学习英语的兴趣和使学生明白如何成为一个伟大的人。
(3)教学重难点：
以上从对教材和教学目标的分析中，可以知道本课的重点难点是：

1. To talk about people’s qualities and inspire the students to discover the value of the great
man’s work.
2. To read on capable people’s life stories and know more information about Nelson
Mandela.

Step 1. Warming up
(Before class, get the Ss to enjoy a beautiful song Hero for 3-5 minutes. After enjoying, ask the Ss some
questions in a moving atmosphere.)
T: Well, for a beautiful song, do you know what it is about?
S :Hero
Q: Who is your hero/heroine?/ Who do you admire in your heart?

Nelson Mandela: Six Things You Didn't Know
Nelson Mandela was very famous.But here are six things you may not have known
about him.
1．He was a boxing fan.
In his youth, Nelson Mandela enjoyed boxing and longdistance running.Even
during the 27 years he spent in prison, he would exercise every morning.
2．His original name was not Nelson.
Rolihlahla Mandela was nine years old when a teacher at the primary school where
he was studying gave him an English name－Nelson.
3．He was on a US terror watch list until 2008.
Mr Mandela was only able to visit the US with special permission from the
secretary of state, because the ANC had been considered as a terrorist organization
by South Africa's former government.
4．He forgot his glasses when he was freed from prison.
