一．单词讲解
1. serve v. 接待(顾客) （本义：服务）
service n. 服务
2. scornfully adv. 轻蔑地
scornful adj. 轻蔑的
scorn n. / v. 轻蔑，蔑视，鄙视
3. eager adj. 热切的，热情地
be eager for sth. 热切的想要某物
The man is eager for success.
be eager to do sth. 热情地/急切地做某事
The stranger was eager to help me.
二．课文语法讲解：复习介词
介词
• in / on / at
地点：in 在...里面（立体的空间）；on 在...上面（平面的空间）；at 某一点。

时间：at 在某一时间点；on 表示在某一天；in 接大的时间范围。

• to 朝着某一方向（静态）
• into / out of 从外面进入到里面去；从外面进入到里面去（into/out of+内容;）• with 伴随着...有（反义词：without)
课文：
1.Can I help you ?= What can I do for you ? 服务员常用语
2. A woman _____ jeans stood ____ the window of an expensive shop. (in;at)
3. Though she hesitated for a moment, she finally went ____ and asked to see a dress that was ____ the window. (in;in)
4. The assistant who served her did not like the way she was dressed.
1）两个定语从句；
2）dress n. 连衣裙
v. 穿衣服
与wear区别：wear +衣服（主动）sb. wear sth.
dress +人（主动）给某人穿衣服
Sb. be dressed in +衣服(被动时+衣服）形式上被动，意思是主动
5.Glancing at her scornfully, he told her that the dress was sold.
1)Glancing at her...主谓搭配好后，多余的动词变成非谓语动词。

主动。

6. The woman walked out of the shop angrily and decided to punish the assistant next day.
7. She returned to the shop the following morning dressed in a fur coat, with a handbag in one hand and a long umbrella in the other.
1) return to.. 返回到...
2) dressed in.. 被动表主动穿= wearing...
3) in one hand... in the other...
8. After seeking out the rude assistant, she asked for the same dress.
1) ask for 寻求，索要
2）seek out 搜索出
9. Not realizing who she was, the assistant was eager to serve her this time.
1）be eager to do 热切/急切的做某事
2）Not realizing who she was
doing 作状语，修饰后面的句子
否定形式直接在doing前加not.

1）With 伴随着...有
11. As soon as she saw it, the woman said she did not like it.
1) As soon as 一...就...
12. She enjoyed herself making the assistant bring almost everything in the window before finally buying the dress she had first asked for.
1) enjoy oneself doing sth. 享受某人自己做某事
2) make sb. do sth. 使某人做某事
3）...the dress she had first asked for. 省略关系词的定语从句（作宾语可省）
三．知识拓展：使役动词
make sb. do / let sb. do 使/让某人做某事
区别：make sb. do sth. 有强迫或迫使的意味
let sb. do sth. 1）用来提出建议；2）表示允许。

• She made the assistant bring almost everything in the window.
• The teacher made the boy write the exercise again.
• Let’s take a taxi. 建议
• Don’t let the children touch anything in this room please. 允许
不规则变化的动词：
• seek sought sought。

【Special Difficulties】Make and Letmake和let 后面都跟不带to的不定式，但意义上和用法上有区别：make+名词/代词+不带to的不定式，表示“迫使，致使”：She enjoyed herself making the assistant bring almost everything in the window. 3. a该句缺少主语和谓语，只有一个that引导的从句。

只有a. They say (他们说，人们说)，最适合这个句子，也合乎语法和习惯用法。

其他3个选择b. it said (它说)意思不对，应该是it is said 才准确;c. Said 缺少主语;d. It is saving 不合乎习惯用法，应该是It is said 才对。

所以选a.4. a该句中的if 从句是过去时，那么主句就应该是过去将来时，即用would 加动词原形，表示与现在事实相反，所以只有选a. would 才能使主句He would die 与If 从句相配，构成虚拟语气。

其他3个选择都不合乎语法。

5. c该句是现在完成时否定式,句尾需要添一个合适的副词.a. still, b. even, d. more 都不能用在句尾,只有c. yet常用于完成时态否定句的句尾,表示"还没",所以只能选c.6. b该句中的…all that has been said 为名词性短语，前面只能有介词引导。
