Fable:
Delicious Stone Soup
Three monks come to a village, they
were
hungury, thirsty, and tired. But the villagers refuse to
help and claim that they were broke.
The first monk offered a stone soup recipe for
a
change of villagers’help. The villagers were
so
curious that they finally meet an agreement.
The monks started to make the soup. They throw
three stone into the kettle, "Now this will be a
fine
soup", said the second monk; "but a pinch of
salt
and some parsley would make it
wonderful!"Up
jumped a villager, crying "What luck! I've
just
remembered where some's been left!" Soon
she
came back with many food. As the kettle boiled on,
the memory of the village improved: soon
barley,
carrots, beef and cream had found their way into the
great pot.
Finally the fabulous soup was done.
People
dancing and laughing for a whole night. When
the
monks about to leave, villagers beg the
question
about the secret of the soup. The third monk turned to the crowd, and said: "There is no secret, but this
is certain: it is only by sharing that we may make a
feast". And off the monks wandered, down the road.
