北师大版模块1 Unit 2 Heroes 之Lesson 3 Sports stars教学设计Period 1 readingⅠ.Analysis of the teaching materialsThis lesson introduces the are two is mainly about the process of their growing up and their long road to success.Students will understand the meaning of heroes in a different way. The Grammar in this lesson is about Past Simple and Present Perfect. I’d like to divide this lesson into two periods. The first period is about reading and the second period is grammar.Ⅱ. The teaching methodAccording to the Educational Psychology,English belongs to the language subject. It means to train and improve four basic skills, that is listening,speaking,reading and writing. As long as students listen more,speak more ,read more and write more,they can learn it well. Therefore ,in this lesson I’d like to use Task-based language teaching and Total Situational need to create a situation where students can act out what they have learned.The purpose of the methods is to help students use the words and expressions they have learned to describe the two sisters to others.Ⅲ.Analysis of the students and the study methodAfter the first two lessons learning students have gained some background knowledge about heroes. They must have heard about the two sisters , but maybe they don’t know about their growing process. Students will surely express their keen interest in this lesson.ⅣTeaching objectives1.knowledge objective:Students will be able to pronounce the new words, recognize them and tetell the text with them.2.ability objective:1)students will be able to find and organize specific information in the text.2)Provide a title for the text.3)Introduce the sisters’ struggle for success3.moral objectiveStudents learn how to fight with difficulties ,and then develop strong will and build up confidence.Ⅴ.Teaching important pointsLearn how to use the relevant words and expressions to introduce the two sisters to other people.Ⅵ.The teaching procedureStep 1 Lead-inThe teacher sets an example dialogue of “sports hero/heroineSs make their own dialogues in pairsPurpose : help ss use the functional words and expressions in the new situations.Step 2 Pre-readingThe teacher presents pictures and sentences with new words. Ss learn the words in context. Purpose :help the students guess the meaning of the words in context.The teacher leads ss to read the new guess what will be talked about in the text.Purpose :Ss can pronounce the words correctly and practice the inferring of reading strategies. Step 3 While-readingRead quickly and give a heading for each paragraph.Ask ss how they find the general meaning of each paragraph.The teacher helps ss understand the meaning of champion and compete against in context.Ss listen to the tape with a task in mind : getting ready to find a proper title.Ss try to find a proper title for the text.Ss ask and answer questions about the sisters based on the information.Purpose:help ss understand the text as a whole by listening , making preparations for giving a proper title.Step4 Post-readingSs work in pairs, telling the story and achievements of the sisters to each other.Purpose : students can express the information in the text using their own words.Step 5 HomeworkPage 71 :word cornerⅦ.The blackboard design1.On the left , make a brainstorm to make the students be free to talk about heroes.2.On the right, draw a chart about the detailed information in the order of time.教学反思:This lesson is a reading passage. After this lesson ss’reading abilities such as skimming ,scanning , inferring words in context, summarizing are improved. Meanwhile ,they have learned how to introduce a hero/heroine in their own words with the help of words and expressions in this lesson. Above all ,the two sisters’ long road to success will affect the students deeply. They come to know that success is not easy. To succeed, they must be brave enough to face and overcome any difficulties they meet with in their life.。
