学导练八年级下册英语第三单元作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Unit 3 - Our Changing EnvironmentHey guys! It's me again, your pal Jimmy. Today I wanna talk to you about something super important - our environment and how it's changing. This was the topic of Unit 3 in our awesome 8th grade English book. At first, I was like "Ugh, this is gonna be boring!" But once I started learning about it, I realized it's actually really cool and fascinating stuff! So let's start with what the "environment" really means. It's basically everything around us - the air we breathe, the water we drink, the land we live on, the plants and animals too. The environment gives us everything we need to live. Pretty amazing, right? But here's the thing - our environment is changing, and a lot of it is because of the things that humans are doing. One of the biggest problems is pollution. You've probably heard about pollution before - it's when we release yucky stuff into the air, water or land that makes it dirty and unsafe. Things like smoke from factories, chemicals from cleaning products, andgarbage that doesn't get thrown away properly. This pollution is really bad news for plants, animals and even people.Another huge issue is climate change. I know, I know, it sounds kind of boring. But climate change is when the Earth's temperature goes up and up because of greenhouse gases in the air. These gases trap heat from the sun and make the whole planet get warmer over time. Sounds not so good, doesn't it?Climate change is causing all kinds of crazy things to happen. The polar ice caps are melting, sea levels are rising, weather patterns are changing, and animals are losing their homes. Scientists think if we don't do something soon, climate change could make the Earth a very different and difficult place to live in the future. Yikes! But don't worry, there's still time for us to make a difference! We can fight back against pollution and climate change in lots of little ways. Like using less plastic, recycling as much as we can, turning off lights when we leave a room, walking or biking instead of driving sometimes. Every bit helps! Some people are also working on awesome inventions and technologies to help reduce our impact on the environment. Things like solar panels to capture energy from the sun, windturbines that make electricity from the wind, and electric cars that don't pollute the air. Cool stuff! My favorite part about learning all this was when we did a project making our own solar ovens. We used simple materials like cardboard boxes, aluminum foil and plastic wrap to build little ovens that get hot just from the sun's rays. It was so awesome to cook s'mores using just the power of the sun!I also loved when we went on a field trip to a local nature reserve. We got to see loads of cool plants and critters up close. Our guide taught us about how important it is to protect these animals' habitats so they don't go extinct. We even got to release some baby turtles into a pond - they were so cute and tiny! What I'm trying to say is, our environment is something we all need to care about and protect. It might seem like a huge, overwhelming thing, but if we all do our small part it can make a big difference. We're the future generation and it's up to us to make this planet a cleaner, greener, more sustainable place to live.So keep learning about the environment, keep exploring nature, and keep doing your bit to reduce your impact. Start some good habits now while you're young and it'll be easy to be an environmental superhero as you get older! Our Earth is themost amazing, irreplaceable thing we've got. We've gotta take care of it, you know? Alright, I'll shut up now - let me know if you have any other questions! Peace out, planeteers!篇2Unit 3 - A Changing WorldHi there! My name is Lily and I'm a 4th grader. My big sister is in 8th grade and she has been learning some really cool stuff in her English class. She showed me her textbook and the unit they are studying now is all about how the world is changing. It's a super interesting topic! The first part talks about changes in technology. Can you believe that just a few decades ago, there were no smartphones or tablets? People used to have these big clunky mobile phones that could only make calls and maybe send texts. And computers used to take up entire rooms instead of fitting in your backpack! Nowadays, we have all this amazing portable tech that lets us communicate instantly with anyone anywhere, look up any information, take photos and videos, and even do our homework. My mind is blown thinking about how different life used to be without all these gadgets.Of course, new technology isn't just about fun and games. It has also changed the way we learn and work. My teacher sometimes has us watch educational videos or interact with learning apps on our tablets. And my mom is able to work remotely from home a few days per week thanks to video conferencing and cloud computing. The textbook talks about how automation and AI are shifting the types of jobs people have too. Some jobs that used to be done by humans are now handled by robots and computers. Pretty wild, huh?Another major change happening is in how we communicate and get information. With the internet and social media, news and ideas can spread literally all over the world in a matter of seconds. We're way more connected globally than ever before in history. But there are also downsides, like the spread of misinformation and cyberbullying. It's important to be a savvy media consumer these days.Of course, changes don't just happen in the digital world - the textbook covers major shifts in our physical world too. Climate change is having a huge impact, from rising temperatures to more extreme weather events. This is driving things like developing renewable energy sources and moreeco-friendly practices. Cities are growing rapidly too, changingthe way millions of people live day-to-day. Urban planning has to account for things like public transportation, green spaces, and sustainable housing as populations increase. It's pretty mind-boggling if you think about it!Another area undergoing rapid transformation is healthcare and medicine. Scientists are making incredible advances in areas like genetics, prosthetics, and treatments for diseases that were once untreatable. People are living longer than ever. At the same time, we have to grapple with big ethical questions around things like gene editing, AI healthcare, and data privacy. From my 4th grade perspective, it all seems very complex! So those are some of the major types of changes happening in our world according to my sister's English textbook. Reflecting on it all, I feel both excited and a bit nervous about the future. So many amazing innovations lie ahead that could improve our lives tremendously. But there are also risks and challenges involved with dramatic societal changes too. I guess the key is for all of us - even us kids - to stay educated, open-minded, and thoughtful about how to adapt to this rapidly changing world. Thanks for reading my essay! I know I'm just a 4th grader, but I tried my best to summarize what I've absorbed from my big sister's textbook. Maybe some of you are learning similar stuff inyour classes too. If not, I hope this at least gave you a little window into the mind of an elementary schooler grappling with heady topics about our transforming world. Catch ya later!篇3My Favorite TV ShowHi everyone! I'm going to tell you about my absolute favorite TV show. It's called "The Outdoor Adventurers" and it's sooooo awesome! The show is about these four kids - Sam, Maria, Alex and Jasmine. They're all best friends and they love going on adventures together in the great outdoors. Every episode, they go explore a new place like a forest, a mountain, a lake or a cave. It's really cool because you get to learn about nature and different environments. But it's not just educational, it's also really exciting and fun! There's always some kind of mystery or challenge the kids have to solve using their brains and teamwork. Like maybe they have to find their way out of a maze of underground tunnels. Or they have to figure out how to build a raft to get across a raging river. Or they discover ancient ruins and have to crack a secret code toreveal hidden treasures! The adventures are never the same which makes it super interesting. My favorite characters are Sam and Maria. Sam is the leader of the group and he's really smart and brave. He always stays calm under pressure and comes up with clever ideas to get them out of sticky situations. Maria is also brave but in a different way - she's not afraid to get dirty or take risks. She's an awesome climber and swimmer and she's sooo athletic. Sometimes I wish I could be more like her and not be such a scaredy-cat!Alex is the joker of the group. He's always cracking jokes and doing funny impressions which makes me laugh a lot. But he can be a bit of a goof sometimes and gets them into trouble because he's not paying attention. Jasmine is the brainiac - she knows absolutely everything about plants, animals, geology, you name it. The rest of the gang are always asking her science questions. She can be a bit of a knowitall but her smarts really helps them out on their adventures. What I love most about the show is that the four friends never give up, no matter how hard the challenge is or how scared they get sometimes. They support and encourage each other and work together as a team to overcome any obstacle in their way. That's such an important lesson to learn. The showmakes me feel brave and inspired to go explore the outdoors more with my own friends too!The adventures are exciting for sure, but they're not too intense or scary for kids to watch. There's no bad violence or anything inappropriate. The Outdoor Adventurers get into plenty of dicey predicaments but they use their brains and courage to get themselves out, not by fighting bad guys or anything like that. The show reminds me that you can have amazing real-life adventures in the real world simply by exploring nature around you.Another thing I really like is the animation style. It's like a mix of animating real-life actors and amazing computer animation for the backgrounds and settings. That makes it look super realistic, almost like you're watching a live-action show but with animated characters. It's just such a cool visual style! The landscapes and nature scenes are breathtaking. Watching it always makes me want to spend more time outdoors. At the end of every episode, the characters review what they learned about the environment they explored. But it's not boring at all - the facts are blended in with the storyline in a really fun and natural way. I've learned so much about stuff like erosion, photosynthesis, the food chain, tectonic plates, and more justfrom watching the show. My knowledge of science and nature has grown a ton!Overall, The Outdoor Adventurers is an awesome show that makes learning about the great outdoors really exciting and entertaining. The characters are lovable, the adventures are thrilling but not too scary, and it teaches great lessons about problem-solving, perseverance and friendship. I can't wait for the next season to start so I can go on more wildernesses escapades with Sam, Maria, Alex and Jasmine! If you haven't watched it yet, I highhhhly recommend you check it out. It's my #1 favorite show of all time and I'm sure you'll love it as much as me!篇4Unit 3 - Protect the EnvironmentHi everyone! Today I want to talk about the environment and why it's super important that we protect it. The environment is basically everything around us - the air, the water, the land, the plants and animals. It's like the big house we all live in together on planet Earth!First up, let's chat about air pollution. This is when too much yucky stuff gets into the air we breathe from factories, cars, and other sources. Breathing polluted air can make people really sickwith problems like asthma. It's not good for animals either. Poor air quality is one reason why the hole in the ozone layer up in the sky has gotten bigger over time. The ozone blocks out harmful sun rays, so we need to fix that hole!Water pollution is another huge problem. When too many chemicals, garbage, and other nasties get dumped into rivers, lakes and oceans, it hurts all the plants and creatures that live in the water. Fish and other sea life can get really sick or even die from polluted waters. And we certainly don't want to drink dirty, contaminated water - yuck! Then there's the issue of land pollution from things like deforestation and improper waste disposal. Cutting down too many trees means there are fewer plants to produce the oxygen we need to breathe. It also destroys the homes of countless animal species. As for trash, when we just toss it on the ground or don't dispose of it properly, it can really mess up the soil and surrounding landscape over time.Climate change is maybe the biggest environmental threat of all though. By putting too many greenhouse gases into the atmosphere from burning fossil fuels, we're raising global temperatures and causing all sorts of crazy weather patterns.Polar ice caps are melting, sea levels are rising, storms are getting more intense...it's kind of scary to think about! So what can we do to help protect our precious environment? Well, there are actually lots of things we can do as individuals, families and communities:Reduce, reuse, recycle! Cut down on waste by reusing items when possible and recycling what you can.Conserve energy and water at home by taking shorter showers, turning off lights, etc.Walk, bike or take public transportation instead of driving a car when you can.Pick up litter you see on the ground instead of just leaving it there.Plant trees and gardens to produce cleaner air.Support companies that use environmentally friendly practices. At school, we can have recycling programs, eco clubs, tree planting activities and more. Governments can pass laws to limit pollution and protect natural habitats too. If we all work togetherand make some small changes, it can add up to make a huge positive impact!I hope this has helped explain why protecting the environment is so crucial for our own health and the health of the whole planet. We've got to take care of our Earth, because it's the only home we've got! Even us kids can do our part. Who's with me?!篇5Unit 3 Was Really Fun and Cool!Hi friends! I'm so excited to tell you all about Unit 3 in our 8th grade English textbook. It was the best unit ever! We learned soooo many awesome things. Get ready for me to tell you everything!First up, we started learning about different jobs and careers. The book had pictures of cool jobs like astronauts, scientists, athletes, and more. I thought being an astronaut would be the coolest! Just imagine flying up into outer space and walking on the moon. Wow!But then we read about other jobs too like bakers, teachers, and doctors. My friend David's mom is a doctor and he said it'sreally hard work but she helps save people's lives. That's pretty amazing if you ask me. I'm not sure what I want to be when I grow up yet. Being an astronaut astronomer sounds fun - then I could explore space AND study stars and planets!Anyway, after learning about all the different job options, we had to do a career project. We had to research a career we might want and then present it to the class. I chose astronomer because I'm obsessed with space! Did you know astronomers use huge telescopes to see galaxies millions of light years away? That's so far my brain can't even comprehend it. I made a poster all about the education you need, the tools astronomers use, and where they typically work. Presenting in front of everyone was nervewracking but I did it!The next part of the unit was my favorite - we read some awesome stories! One was called "The Scholarship Jacket" about a girl who really wanted this fancy university jacket to wear. Her mom couldn't afford it, so she entered an essay contest to try to win one. It was a super inspirational tale about working hard to achieve your dreams.Another story we read was "Holes" about this boy who got sent to a juvenile detention camp in the desert. It sounded just awful! He had to dig holes in the hot sun all day long aspunishment. But it turned into this crazy mystery adventure story too. I don't want to ruin the ending but let's just say always expect the unexpected! Definitely one of the most fun books I've ever read. After the reading, we had to write our own creative stories. I wrote a sci-fi one about kids who find a magic rocket ship and go on adventures exploring different planets. I crammed in lots of imaginary alien species and crazy planet environments. Miss Johnson said she really enjoyed how creative I got with the storytelling! Then towards the end of the unit, we focused on learning persuasive writing skills. We looked at examples of persuasive essays, letters, advertisements, etc. And identified all the different techniques writers use like pathos, ethos, and logos. I had no clue there were so many specific persuasion methods writers use to convince you of their point! Our big persuasive writing assignment was to write a letter to our school principal about a change we wanted to see made at school. I wrote mine on why we need longer recess times to run around and get our energy out. I laid out all my reasoning using clear examples, logic, and by appealing to their authority too. Finger's crossed Principal Taylor goes for it!The very last thing we did for Unit 3 was take the big test. I admit I was a bit nervous going into it after learning so much new stuff over the past few weeks. But I studied really hard,re-reading all the stories and my notes. I struggled a bit with mastering all the persuasive writing techniques in the free response section. But overall I don't think I did too badly!Phew, that was one long but extremely fun unit! We covered SO much - from exploring careers, reading amazing stories, creative writing, and persuasive writing techniques. I just loved every minute of it. My brain is probably twice as big now after cramming in all that new knowledge!I can't wait to see what other cool things we learn in Unit 4. 8th grade English is definitely my favorite subject this year. Miss Johnson does such an awesome job making it all engaging and interesting. If only every school subject could be as fun as this unit was!Well, that's all I've got to report for now friends. Let me know if you have any other questions! I'll talk to you again very soon when Unit 4 kicks off. This school year is just flying by so fast!篇6My Awesome Journey Learning English in Unit 3Hi there! My name is Johnny and I'm a 4th grader. I just finished studying Unit 3 in my English textbook and I'm super excited to tell you all about it! Learning English is so much fun and this unit was packed with cool stuff. It started off with this really neat story called "The Bamboo Grove". It was about this kid named Tao who went on an adventure in a magical bamboo forest. There were these awesome mythical creatures like a monkey king and a dragon princess! The story taught me lots of great vocabulary words like "thicket", "mystic", and "proceedings". My favorite part was when Tao had to solve riddles to get past the monkey king's servants. I love riddles! After the story, we learned about different festivals celebrated around the world. We read about Chinese New Year, Brazil's Carnival, Spain's Running of the Bulls, and more! Chinese New Year was definitely the coolest one to me. I loved reading about all the fun traditions like giving red envelopes, eating reunion dinner, and watching dragon dances. The language about the festivals was pretty tricky with words like "festivities", "revelries", and "commemorating", but my teacher helped me understand. My most favorite part of the unit was when we learned about different traditional arts and crafts. Things like Chinese paper cutting, African mask carving, and Mexican piñata making! For our class project, we each got to make our own Chinese paper cutting. It was a little hard getting the folds right at first, but once I got the hang of it, it was awesome. I made a beautiful paper cut out of a dragon breathing fire. My parents hung it up in our living room! There were also some really cool poems and songs in this unit about nature and different cultures. I liked the poem "The Paddling Canoe" because of the vivid words it used to describe the river and forests, like "mirrored surface" and "towering pines". The Japanese song "Sakura Sakura" about cherry blossom trees was pretty too, even though some of the vocabulary like "ephemeral" was over my head at first.Throughout the unit we practiced tons of useful language for things like describing traditions, retelling stories, and talking about arts and crafts. I feel like I really leveled up my grammar, like using adverbs of time, relative clauses, and the past continuous tense. It was challenging at times, but sooo worth it to build up my English skills.Oh and I can't forget about all the fun games and activities we did, like charades, Kim's Game, and running dictation. Those kept things exciting and helped me remember stuff better than just reading from the book. Especially Kim's Game where you have to memorize all the objects on a tray - that was a huge brain workout!I'm really proud of myself for working hard and learning so many new words and grammar points this unit. Finishing it feels like a huge accomplishment. My English is getting better and better, which is awesome because I want to travel the world and learn about different cultures when I grow up. This unit opened my eyes to all sorts of cool traditions out there.Well, that's my experience with Unit 3 - a total adventure packed with stories, festivals, arts and crafts, language practice, and fun activities. I gave it my all and now I'm ready to take on the next unit feeling confident and excited to keep building my English skills. This language learning journey is an awesome one!。
