3 different views:
• Leadership and management are the same; leadership is one facet of management
• Leaders and managers are mutually exclusive; leaders have followers, managers have subordinates
• Leadership and management are two different functions or roles that the same person can take on at different points in time

The research demonstrates that organisations with the highest quality leaders were much more likely to outperform their competition in key bottom line metrics, such as: •Financial performance •Quality of products and services •Employee engagement •Customer satisfaction.
