Revision of the Adverbial Clauses Of Time

Key points in teaching

(1)Talk about and review the adverbial clauses, this class the important is the Adverbial clause of time.

(2)Enable the students to sum up the main conjunction of the time adverbial clauses.

(2)How to use the main conjunctions of the adverbial clause. Teaching preparation:

The multimedia and the blackboard.

Teaching process:

Step 1 Greetings

Greet the whole class as usual.

Step 2 Lead-in

T:hello! Everyone! Before class, I have some questions to ask you. what is the attributive clause? what is conjunction is? what is the antecedent? How many conjunctions in the adverbial clause of time? Ask some students to answer the questions.

Step 3 review the adverbial clauses.

1.T: Before we studied some adverbial clause, ask some students to tell the class.

The teacher sum up the knowledge.

状语从句(Adverbial Clause)状语从句指句子用作状语时,起副词作用的句子。它可以修饰谓语、非谓语动词、定语、状语或整个句子。根据其作用可分为时间、地点、原因、条件、目的、结果、让步、方式和比较等从句。状语从句一般由连词(从属连词)引导,也可以由词组引起。从句位于句首或句中时通常用逗号与主句隔开,位于句尾时可以不用逗号隔开。

Step 4 review the adverbial clause of time

a. First, let students do some questions and sum up the conjunctions.

b. Underline the conjunctions of the sentences:

1. I felt nervous the first time I talked to others.

4. Hardly had he reached the school gate when the bell rang.

5. No sooner had I arrived home than it began to rain.

This period give students some minutes to think about them. And then sum up the conjunctions:

when, while, as, before, after, whenever, since,

until / till, not…until,

as soon as, the moment, the minute, the second,

the instant, instantly, directly,

hardly…when, no sooner…than…

every time, each time, every year, each year, …
