Conversation 1
W: Mr. Li, thank you for coming in today. Please have a seat. I’ve looked over
your resume and wanted to meet you to ask you a few questions.
M: Thank you for asking me to come in.
W: First, can you tell me a little about yourself?
M: Certainly. I majored in English literature in college, and spent two years in
London studying. After graduation, I worked for a bank for three years, and
then went to work for a trading company. I’m an optimistic and
self-motivated person. I try very hard to be successful in my work. I can
work well under pressure and enjoy doing work that challenges me.
W: Then why do you want to leave your company?
M: I do enjoy my job, but I believe I am ready for more challenging work now.
W: OK, What are your strong points?
M: As I mentioned, I can work well under pressure and I enjoy work that
challenges me.
W: And your weaknesses?
M: I think I sometimes try to be over-organized. So I am learning how to
concentrate on the most important parts of my job.
W: I see from your resume that you have no experience working with foreign
companies. May I ask why you now wish to do so?
M: I think my English speaking ability can be very useful to a foreign company.
