so,such that的用法小结

so…that和such…that的用法

such…that作“如此…以致”解，连接一个表示结果的状语从句。与so…that

意思相同，但用法不同。如：so…that这一结构中，so后边可加形容词或副词，

而such后边要用名词（这个名词前面可以带形容词，也可以不带）。具体用法见下图。

（2）天气热得谁也不想干活。It was so hot a day that nobody wanted to do anything.

(3)我跌了很多跤，以致全身青一块紫一块的。

I’ve had so many falls that I am black and blue all over.

(4)她朋友太少，常常感到寂寞。

She has so few friends that she often feels lonely.

(5) 他所受教育很少，不适合做这个工作。

He had so little education that he was unfit for this job.

(6) 街上有那么多人观看大火，以致于消防队员无法接近大楼.

There were so many people in the street watching the fire that firefighters could not get close to the building.

(7)这本书很好，我已经读了好几次了。

It is such a good book that I have read it several times.

(8)这些鞋都太小，我穿不上。

There are such small shoes that I can’t wear them.

(9)他进步很快，期末考试取得了很好的成绩。

He made such rapid progress that he did well in mid-term examination.

注意：(1)such…that 和so…that …可以相互转化。

条件是：当被修饰部分是a/an+形容词+单数可数名词，以上两个句型可以通过调整a或an 的位置进行互换。即：such a/an+形容词+单数可数名词+that=so+形容词+a/an+单数可数名词+that

例如：这次会议很重要，你应该参加。

This is such an important meeting that you should attend it.=This is so important a meeting that you should attend it .

(2)当so或such置于句首时，主句要用倒装语序

他是如此聪明的一个学生以至于能解出所有的难题。

He was so clever a student that he was able to work out all the difficult problems.=He was such a clever student that he was able to work out all the difficult problems.=So clever a student was that he was able to work out all the difficult students.

(3)当so或such所在的主句中的主语与结果状语从句中的主语一致时，还可简化为：so/such…as to…

He was so clever a student as to he able to work out all the difficult problems.

(4)该句型在使用中，如果主句主语和从句主语一致，而且从句中用否定式，那么该句型可以用too…to…结构替换。他太累了，没有办法完成作业。He was so tired that he could not finish it on time.---She was too tired to finish it on time
