而大学里总计只有3间教室和一个迷你花园。
据悉,现年74岁的安东·班托克是怀西伍德大学的校长兼唯一教授,而大学也是他的家。
每天放学后,大学“演讲厅”就成了他的客厅,而校长“办公室”就是他的卧室。
但校长班托克颇为自豪的是,尽管怀西伍德大学面积很小,却开设了戏剧、历史、法语、西班牙语和欧洲建筑史等多项课程,并为学生安排实习。
据悉,每年有大约150名学生来怀西伍德大学“深造”,由于是个慈善学校,这里的学费非常便宜——每门课程每年的学费只1至2英镑。
而过去20年来,这所大学已经培养了数千名获得正规文凭的大学本科生!班托克说:“全世界各地的人都来这里学习。
”该大学所在的布里斯托尔市还拥有2所举世闻名的大学——西英格兰大学和布里斯托尔大学等,这些大学总计有4.1万名大学生和8000名教师。
校长班托克难为情地承认,他的怀西伍德大学十分寒酸,显然无法与这些名牌高校相提并论。
