Life is not fair, get used to it.2.
The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something before you feel good about yourself.3.
You will not make 40 thousand dollars a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice president with a car, until you earn both.4.
If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. Hedoesn't have tenure.5.
Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping; they called it opportunity.6.
If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.7.
- Bill Gates' High School Speech on The Eleven Rules ofLife-Fiction!Summary of the eRumorBill Gates spoke before a group of high school students and gave them his eleven rules of life.Summary of the eRumorBill Gates spoke before a group of high school students and gave them his eleven rules of life. The TruthThis is not from Bill Gates. It's an excerpt from the book "Dumbing Down our Kids" byeducator Charles Sykes. It is a list of eleven things you did not learn in school and directed at high school and college grads.A real example of the eRumor as it has appeared on the Internet:---------Whether you like Bill Gates or not...this is prettycool. Here's some advice Bill Gates recently dished outat a high school speech about 11 things they did notlearn in school. He talks about how feel-good,politically correct teaching has created a fullgeneration of kids with no concept of reality and howthis concept sets them up for failure in the realworld.RULE 1Life is not fair - get used to it.RULE 2The world won't care about your self-esteem. The worldwill expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feelgood about yourself.RULE 3You will NOT make 40 thousand dollars a year right outof high school. You won't be a vice president withcar phone, until you earn both.RULE 4If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get aboss. He doesn't have tenure.RULE 5Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Yourgrandparents had a different word for burger flippingtheycalled it Opportunity.RULE 6If you mess up,it's not your parents' fault, so don'twhine about your mistakes, learn from them.RULE 7Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring asthey are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk abouthow cool you are. So before you save the rain forestfrom the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.RULE 8Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life has not. In some schools they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as many times asyou want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.RULE 9Life is not divided into semesters. You don't getsummers off and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.RULE 10Television is NOT real life. In real life peopleactually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.RULE 11Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.。
