for your coming out of your busy schedule.I am very pleased tohave this opportunity to exchange ideas on this teaching material “Where would you like to visit?”.My report is about unit 7 for grade 9 in junior high school.It is made up of seven parts.They are background information, teaching objectives, teaching contents, teaching aids, teaching procedures, homework and blackboard design.Now let’s focus on the first part:background information.I.Background information:a.Teaching materialThe study procedures of the book“Go for it” are arranged step by step and the contents are very close to real life.It is designed with the aim of making students use English to exchange ideas, fulfill certain tasks and solve practical problem.As for this Unit is talking about the places where the students would like to visit.b.Student analysis:(1)Psychological feature:After analyzing, we know that students in grade 9 are around 15 years old.They are more curious about new things.So their interests in learning are easy to be aroused.They care about others’ judgments very much.So I’ll pay more attention to the ways of guiding them.(2)Present Standard:After more than half year’s study, students have obtained some basic knowledge of words, grammars and language structures.c.Teaching methods:Two main methods will be used in my teaching procedures.They are CLT and TBLT.As we all know, the main instructional aims of learning English in the Junior High School is to cultivate students’ abilities of listening, spea king, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language.To use these methods is helpful to develop the students’ thoughts.II.Teaching objectives:According to the analysis of teaching material and the characters of Junior High School students, I put forward the following teaching objectives:a.Knowledge objectives:I’ll enable students to have a good command of the new words and new structures in this section.And get them to talk about the places where the students would like to visit freely in real situation with the new words and new structures.b.Ability objectives:I’ll cultivate students’ ability of communication, cooperation and exploration to enable them to express their opinions using the target sentences.III.Teaching contents: The important teaching points are the new words concerning descriptions about the visiting places.As for the difficulties: students talk about where they would like to visit freely in real situation with the communicative abilities.All above focus on linguistic competence and reading proficiency.IV.Teaching aids:I will use multi-media(PPT)in my lesson.At the same time, I will also use other teaching aids, such as tapes, blackboard and chalk.V.Teaching procedures:N ow let’s go to the most important part: Teaching procedures.Under the guide principle of“student–centered class”, I will divide my teaching procedures into 4 steps.They arelead-in, presentation, practice and production.Step 1 Lead-in:I will show some pictures of the beautiful places to my students as a tour guide to let students choose the certain place they would like to visit according to my brief description in English.And I will welcome for their participation.Meanwhile, I’ll demonstrate for them “ how to describe a visiting place.”Step 2 Presentation:Then we go to the next step: presentation.I’ll let the students do a “guess game” with me.I’ll describe famous scenics in English briefly, then let them guess where they are.Practice their listening skills.The sentences will like these…First, I will tell the meaning of the words and structures and then let them read after me to consolidate them.Step 3 Practice:On the basis ofgrasping the new words and new structures.I will design the following practices as listening, reading and writing.Task 1 is word match, I will let students look at the new English words and the Chinese meanings on PPT.And then, let them match them.After that, I’ll check the answers.Task 2 is reading.In this section, I’ll try to get s tudents to read the passage independently to get the general ideas and fill in the chart.After they finish the questions I’ll let them have a debate.The topic may be “Beijing and Chengdu” which is more comfortable to a person.Task 3: writing: Firstly, I’ll let student say the name of their favorite places, and then write them on the blackboard.I’ll ask students to describe them with the new words and structures accordingly.At last, ask students to choose one of them and write a short description of this place.Step 5: ProductionI will ask students to do the pair-work of this unit and fill inthe chart.After they finish the wok, I will let students exchange ideas accordingly.And then here is a role play for students to describe the city they like best as a tour guide so as to arouse the other students’ interests and let them take part in the travel agency.At the same time, I will also make a conclusion including the new words and new structures according so as to emphasize the key points of this unit.VI.HomeworkHere is a composition as homework:Imagine that Golden Week is coming.You would like to visit your friend in the other 五教学方法:共分四课时第一课时:词汇突破,聚焦语法在学生预习单词的基础上,通过自学、互学、老师导学等方式扫除单词障碍,通过学生谈论自己的旅游计划引出本单元的语法项目。
第二课时:听说课集中本单元的听力材料,进行听力训练,通过本单元的各种任务,练习语言结构第三课时:读写课阅读本单元的文章,提高学生对文章的整体把握能力和理解能力,并进行同步写作。
