Lecture 1: A Lecture as a brief Introduction to Interpretation口译课程性质口译是人类历史进程中世界各民族交流与往来的重要纽带和桥梁，口译活动是一种综合运用视、听、说、读、写等各项知识与技能的语言活动。
口译课程属于提高语言水平、文化素养及交际能力的实用型、综合型课程。
中级口译课的性质旨在将语言技能与专业知识相结合，通过对口译背景知识（如口译的历史、定义、特点、分类）、口译基本理论和实践技巧（如记忆、口头概述及笔记的具体操作以及数字、成语、谚语等难点的处理）等内容的讲解，使学生掌握口译基本理论与技能，逐步熟悉在外事接待、礼仪祝辞、旅游观光、商务谈判、大会发言、宣传介绍、参观访问、文化交流等主题领域的口译实践。
中级口译课的目的是培养学生在英语学科的听、说、读、写、译各单项语言技能及综合运用，增强学生使用英语进行交流的信心和实力，培养学生用英语思维和研究的习惯与方法，加强学生对中西方文化的理解，培养思维能力、记忆能力和责任心，使其具有一定双语交际能力、双文化素养和跨文化意识。
口译课程内容：口译基础知识与基本技巧：包括：课程介绍与口译概论，口译笔记，口译中的听力技巧，数字口译，习语口译，成语口译，引语口译等。
◆专题口语与口译：包括：迎来送往，访谈，礼仪性演讲，教育交流，商务性演讲，旅游，中西方文化口译其中部分专题与大学英语综合教程（四）的主题相结合，并以其部分内容作为口译的语料。
另外，对于大学英语综合教程（四）中的课文、词汇和重要段落采取课堂提问和检查的方式来操作。
课程形式及大致活动安排1．每周两次课，一次两个课时。
（1）根据教学大纲，参考教材，并大量补充课外资料，每周完成相应单元的内容（2）针对大学英语四六级口语考试展开相应的口语活动（3）针对上海中级英语口译证书考试展开相应的听说译活动（4）以学生兴趣为辅补充一些经典英语影视片段赏析，并进行相关联的口语、口译活动2．课堂听说活动形式分为个人活动(individual work)、二人合作(pair work) 和小组活动(group work),主要有以下几种形式的交叉搭配：（1）个人陈述(individual presentation);（2）复述故事（story retelling）; (3) 角色扮演(role playing)(4) 看图说话（picture description）; (5) 分组辩论（debate or argument）; (6) 英语游戏(game time)（7）英语演讲（Speech delivery）;（8）口译视频欣赏（video appreciation）；(9) 模拟记者招待会（mock press conference）本课程成绩考核办法平时成绩70%(考勤、课堂表现、网络自主听力，拓展课单元作业等)期末测试30%其中期末测试形式与上海中级口译证书考试形式基本一致，并包含大学英语综合教程（三）的部分内容。

第⼀章中级⼝译概述以及中级⼝译听⼒题型分类讲解⼀、中⼝简介１、中⼝考试概况: 2004年⼝译考试报名者突破６万⼈次，２００５年新东⽅暑假班１万⼈。
笔试25%．⼝试15%２、中级⼝译笔试共分四部分：1.听⼒40分钟/90分; 2.阅读50分钟/60分; 3.英译汉30分钟/50分; 4.汉译英30分钟/50分。
总考试时间为150分钟，满分为250分。
凡第⼀阶段合格的考⽣（及格分150分）⽅可参加第⼆阶段⼝试。

Well, these two translation is a little bit too colloquial. And look at the sentence itself, it is flattering a girl by using some nice words, such amicable and impressive which we don’t use quite often in our spoken English. And that is when we think of translating it in a more poetic way.盈盈一笑皓齿露，美伦美奂实难忘。
我们似乎已经感受到了在翻译的过程中所需要的信达雅的三种境界，而更多的看到的是语言的使用场景与翻译之间的关系，这一点在一些特殊场景的对话中体现的特别明显。
比如：大家看到了很多美剧，其间有诸多的situation，句子听起来并不难，但在特定的场景下，句子的翻译就要有一些difference.比如下面的几句：She doesn’t intend to commit suicide and pretends every make-believe details beforehand. Sadly for her, someone suddenly knocked the door and the timing is fatally flawed.疯狂的主妇第四季Edie 自杀的片断中的旁白，既要有客观性的评述，又要很符合语言所要表达的真实内容：她从来没有想过要自杀，而且事先伪装了一切令人信服的细节，可是很不幸，突然有人敲门，对她来说，真是造化弄人呀！（生不逢时）“I am gonna be sick.”“Right there with you, lady.”观看话剧的时候，两个邻座的人的对话。
1．考试流程中级口译：第一部分3-minute talk这部分要求大家在规定的三分钟内就所给的一个英文题目进行口语表达。
要求做到无重大语法错误，表达流畅，能围绕题目进行论点阐述，论证，无偏题，跑题问题。
第二部分4 passages of interpretation这部分共有四段口译，两段英翻中，两段中翻英。
每一段分四小段翻完，即共有十六小段。
每小段通常在两到三小句，其中至少应有一句长难复杂句。
每小段结束后磁带中发出“嘟”的声音，考生必须在第二声“嘟”之前把听到的段落翻译出来。
每小段间隔时间约为22到25秒钟。
每小段字数大约为60-80字。
2．评分标准及通过率口试与笔试最大的区别在于没有具体的分数，而只有及格与不及格之分。
中级口译共十六小段，必须要确保翻对其中的十一小段。
即最多只能错五小段。
如只翻对十小段，错六小段，虽然只差一小段，但结果仍然是不过。
所以口试是相对来说比较残酷的。
这也是口试通过率特别低的主要原因，中口一般为不超过30%，高口一般不超过20%。
如一个考场一天有二十名考生，中口最多过六到七人，高口最多过三到四人。
具体到每小段的时候，考官会遵循三分之二正确率的原则。
即如一小段中有六个关键信息，考生必须正确翻出至少三分之二的内容才算这小段通过，如翻对二分之一，则算不及格。
现举例说明：以中级口译2005年9月第二阶段考试为例：原文：Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our annual University Awards. I am extremely delighted that we are once again celebrating the achievements of our colleagues.//关键信息为：上午好/女士们先生们/欢迎参加本大学颁奖仪式/高兴/再次/庆祝/同仁/成就不及格版本：上午好，欢迎参加颁奖，很高兴庆祝同仁的成就。
英语中级口译证书英语一、英语中级口译证书简介英语中级口译证书（Intermediate English Interpreting Certificate）是我国针对英语口译人才颁发的一种专业资格证书。
持有此证书的人员，具备一定的英语口译能力，能够在各类场合进行简单的口译工作。
