英语教师招聘面试说课模板范文
Good morning, everyone. I am glad to have this
opportunity to share with you my teaching demonstration.
Today, I will talk about how to present a reading lesson to a
class of intermediate-level students.
First, I will start the lesson by engaging the students
with some pre-reading activities. I will ask them some
questions related to the topic of the reading passage to
activate their prior knowledge and generate interest. For
example, if the reading passage is about the environment, I
might ask them about their opinions on environmental issues
or their personal experiences related to the topic.
After the pre-reading activities, I will introduce the
reading passage to the students. I will give them some
information about the author and the context of the passage
to help them better understand the text. Then, I will provide some vocabulary instruction by pre-teaching key words that
might create obstacles for the students' comprehension. I
will also teach them some reading strategies, such as
skimming and scanning, to help them better comprehend the
text.
Next, I will have the students read the passage
independently. Meanwhile, I will monitor their reading and
offer assistance if needed. After they finish reading, I will
ask them to work in pairs or small groups to discuss the main
ideas, the structure of the passage and their reactions to
the reading. This will help them deepen their understanding
and provide an opportunity for them to practice their
speaking and listening skills.
After the group discussion, I will conduct a whole-class
discussion to check their comprehension and provide
clarification if necessary. I will also encourage them to share their opinions and justify their answers based on
evidence from the text.
To reinforce their comprehension of the passage, I will
give them a variety of comprehension questions to check their
understanding of the main ideas, supporting details, and
inferencing. The questions will be designed to provoke
critical thinking and engage the students in meaningful
discussion.
Finally, I will wrap up the lesson by providing some
follow-up activities. For example, I might ask the students
to write a summary of the passage, or to do a role play based
on a situation described in the passage. This will help them
consolidate their understanding and extend their learning
beyond the reading passage.
In conclusion, my goal in teaching reading is to develop
the students' reading proficiency while fostering their
critical thinking and language skills. I believe that by engaging the students with pre-reading activities, providing
scaffolding and support during reading, and facilitating
post-reading activities, I can help the students become more
independent and strategic readers. Thank you for your
attention. I am open to any questions or feedback.
