第六章:旅游文本翻译1. 概述会展旅游业是21世纪的朝阳产业,已经成为推动我国经济发展的重要支柱产业之一,各地政府和企业不断投入巨资,打造或创新会展旅游项目,以便拓展更大的旅游发展空间。
旅游是文化的形和体,文化是旅游的根和魂,旅游宣传是文化沟通与交流的手段。
实践证明,国际间文化和文化产品的交流与合作远比国家和政府之间的交往更为现实有效。
实现中国文化“走出去”战略的一个重要途径就是吸引海外旅游者体验中国文化,用互动方式展示中国,为我国蓬勃发展的文化创意产业吸引高端客源。
因此,旅游文本翻译日益显得重要。
旅游文本包括自然景观、人文景观、博物馆、酒店、餐饮等的宣传介绍。
旅游文本翻译属于对外宣传范畴,其目的是吸引更多海外游客体验中国,旅游文本翻译强调可读性,以求达到信息传递的最佳效果。
旅游文本翻译从体裁上讲,属于功能翻译学派所界定的“信息型”(informative)+“呼唤型”(vocative)功能文本,它主要有两个功能,一是传递信息,二是唤起行动。
2. 旅游指南的主题信息性质与分类2.1旅游产业发展的主题化特征在一个全球旅游和信息互通的时代,游客对旅游项目或活动的品位和特色要求越来越高。
我国旅游业为吸引更多海内外游客,对旅游项目的开发设计和宣传也越来越主题化(theme-oriented),即所谓“特色游”(featuretour),以满足不同层次和不同兴趣的游客需要。
例如:“活力广东”(Guangdong of vitality);清远----粤北后花园(the Backyard of Northern Guangdong);江西“红色”旅游(Red Tourism in Jiangxi / Revolutionary Site Tourism in Jiangxi)。
这种主题化旅游的特点是突出旅游地或项目的特色性、观赏性、怡情性、知识性等,因此,旅游指南的写作和翻译也应突出这种主题化特色,根据旅游者对旅游项目的主题性、特色性、观赏性、怡情性、知识性等需求进行翻译。
862014年2月下半月刊旅游管理研究旅游文本的功能是在于通过对旅游景点的介绍,激发人们旅游参观的兴趣。
因此,翻译旅游文本的最终目的在于通过传递信息来吸引游客。
本文先从目的论出发,对目的论做了简要介绍,并以此为指导原则进行旅游文本的翻译。
一、目的论简介翻译目的论认为,翻译是一种交际行为,翻译行为所要达到的目的决定整个翻译行为的过程,即“欲达目的不择手段”。
(Shuttleworth & Cowie ,2004:156)。
在这一原则下,源文本只起到提供信息的作用,译者在翻译的过程中,应该注重在译入语环境中,所需要达到的一种或几种交际的需求。
旅游文本属于呼吁性文本,其中包括旅游景点的介绍,旅游宣传广告,旅游景点名称,旅游广告标牌,古迹楹联等等。
旅游文本的翻译,在语言上,应该注意与译入语读者的阅读习惯相贴近,达到以语言的魅力吸引游客的目的。
二、英汉旅游文本语言特点及风格差异1.中文旅游文本的特点(1)语言渗透主观感受。
所谓“三分像,七分想”,就是在指中国人喜爱抒发内心的感情,尤其是在描述自然景观的时候,将自身的想象与现实景色相结合。
例如:南溪山,双峰并列,峭拔挺立,烟翠凌空,山形似马鞍。
每逢空山新雨,阳光映照,可见石色洁白如玉,恰似一幅浓淡相宜的山水丹青。
这种富有人文色彩的结合,将人的主观情感根植于描述的语言之中,同时,佐以拟人,通感等修辞手法的巧妙运用,让语言产生动人的魅力,是其他效果所不能比拟的。
(2)用词典雅,简约华美。
中文语言的特点之一,就是注重意合,将句子前后的语意相关联,辅以形容词的变幻多端,给人典雅的感受,同时,汉语的表达,通常会运用大量的对偶平行句子,以追求文章的对仗工整,声律和谐,以期达到音形意皆美的完美表现。
简单的三言两语,简约概括的表达原作者的意思。
所谓形散而神不散,就完整的概括了中文的语言特点,旅游文本亦是如此。
(3)古诗词的引用。
在中国,各地的旅游景点都有着诉不尽的历史渊源,更不乏历代文人墨客的吟诵诗词。
